Consider joining Yea Alabama on 9/30. Support our folks

Yea Alabama has existed for a while as a collective that has mostly been toothless because of a weird tier structure and fans being detached.
On 9/30 they are relaunching with only two tiers; $5 and $25. I think this is really smart because I feel like a lot more fans are inclined to come off of 5 dollars to feel tapped in. With the new tiers they are launching a few other interesting site updates as well.
After a win like tonight, consider putting $5 a month to be tapped in vs like a BoL since it goes toward the guys who are making the plays.

I'm still paying off my student loans, brother. No way in hell am I going to send money to players already getting a free ride who could easily take that money and run as soon as Ohio State calls

Maybe not everyone can do it. If people can’t spare the extra $5 a month in hard times that’s understandable.
I personally think that some of the things they are talking about doing with the collective are worth it(access to events, ticket exchange, and some other exciting developments you can read about at the link in the OP).
It’s less than the price of a cup of coffee per month. Many of us spend upwards of 5 hours a week watching the team or talking about them so if you ARE able then I think it’s worth considering. The 20 hours a month I dedicate toward watching the team is more valuable than $5.

I’ll consider it. That’s a palatable entry point that I very likely would never surpass. Probably a good retune by our collective brain trust

No way in hell does a win over Georgia tell me that I should be contributing money to fricking millionaires who will then be driving that expensive ride they're gonna buy next year when they're playing in Austin or Columbus. frick that shite.

What's not understandable is why anyone would contribute $5 month to put into the pockets of kids who have more money than they do.
Let the big corporations contribute the big bucks. Asking fans to give is monumentally stupid and pretty tone deaf.
edit: ok, I stand corrected. If it isn't going to NIL, that's a different story. But still, they have raised the seat fees and ticket prices already. Now they want the fan who sits at home and watches on TV to pony up? Again...frick that shite. Charge Tiffin Motorhomes and Conecuh Sausage more money.

So this is what they want you to pay money for?
"Memberships will move to two tiers from the current five-tier structure, which includes student memberships. The new membership tiers will be a starter level (Rookie) for $5 per month and a premium level (Veteran) for $25 per month. Rookie level members will get access to the exclusive message board plus Alabama Athletics content, breaking news and announcements. Veteran level members will get access to everything in Rookie plus Player Shoutouts and more features coming soon."

And if everyone has that attitude you can be damn sure they’ll be playing elsewhere. They aren’t asking you to give $5 for nothing. The idea is the site will be a service going forward.
But by all means spend all your time thinking about the team and then be mad when the team is bad. Matter of fact, don’t take the time to respond. Use that time to go collect cans so you can cash them in for $5. Time is money brother.

Reminder: Tomorrow is the day for this relaunch. I’m pretty damn excited for a couple of specific new offerings that are coming right on time for us fans.
Hope to see a few of you cool folks over there supporting the new collective.
*don’t need any counterpoints. We get it. If you’re not interested just move along. I’m just spreading the news for those who are*

I’ll check it out. Do current memberships automatically renew?

To my understanding they will ask current members to choose their new tier. I think only 1 tier was under $25
so I’m guessing a lot of new donors will dip their toe in for $5 to try out the ticket exchange, member events, and message board.
And the folks who have been in the higher dollar tiers will stay at $25. They get a few added benefits but still fleshing out this tier and its added benefits.

I joined Yea Alabama as soon as it started. Am I still a member, or do I rejoin? I don’t want to pay for two memberships. I do like that we are using Learfield Sports Marketing for NIL options. We’ve been contracted with them for radio broadcasts for many years.

Changed my mind… I’ll give it a look for the season… if I don’t like it, I can always cancel.

I understand most of these kids come from disadvantaged homes and need some money. I work hard for my money and these primadonna types that switch schools yearly don’t interest me.

Ehh, I pay for season tickets, I'm good.

They ought to require membership to have the right to access and purchase exclusive apparel / gear. Not just with the Yea Alabama logo items, but something football specific.
Something like a $100 membership fee to get access to purchase exclusive items. Once its gone its gone. Don't just try to sell your shirt and stuff to the general public - create some desirability through exclusivity.
Just sending money to fund these players or to get a "shout out" from a player isn't appealing in the slightest (unless you're a 10 year old sending in your birthday money), but getting access to exclusive stuff might make me pull the trigger on something like that.
Until then, I will just pay for me seats.

Me too, for basketball, and I designated in the comments for them. Hoping we have plenty of other football donors, but Mark’s Madness kept things interesting in the midst of 3 Mikes and a Fran while I was at the Capstone.
