but this butthurt about cowbells is ridiculous. The Tennessee soccer coach complained after his #1 team lost in Starkville last week. There has been so much complaining from Tennessee that MSU is putting out the Ring Responsibly message more than they ever have.

State by 90.

Seriously, anyone who thinks MSU is going to beat the Deploravols needs a mental health check. It's going to be a massacre.

I haven't seen too much complaining about it. Personally, I get it. If you typically have around 50K fans in your stadium, you need something to make it loud like the venues of programs that have more fans. They just don't have enough fans to be loud without them.

Dude what’s your problem with State? You seem unhinged. You start a thread about them and now I’ve seen you in 2 other threads talking shite about them. Weird!!

Every road game against a ranked opponent is dangerous for any team and we should be ranked now.

Since Heupel took over at UT, his road record hasn't been great. For true Road Games vs Ranked Opponents: 4-6 (0.400)

2021 - #11 UF - L
2021 - #4 Bama - L
2021 - #18 UK - W
2022 - #18 Pitt - W
2022 - #24 LSU - W
2022 - #2 UGA - L
2023 - #11 Bama - L
2023 - #11 MIZZOU - L
2024 - #15 Oklahoma - W
2024 - #12 UGA - L

Looking at Jeff Lebby's Home Record vs Ranked Teams @ MSU: 1-2 (0.333)

2024 - #14 aTm - L
2024 - #23 MIZZOU - L
2025 - #12 Arizona St. - W

So, Heupel has won 40% of the road games he's coached against ranked teams while at UT, and Lebby has won 33% of the home games he's coached against ranked teams while at MSU.

Honest, no Grind, real opinion here.

This could be a shootout. Shapen can sling it and State's receivers are fast. Tennessee is weak in the secondary and this could be a part of the game that plays into State's strengths - score from far.

Tennessee should have success on the ground. State has the ability to bend but not break. If they can hold Tennessee to a couple of field goals instead of touchdowns - State can win this game if it is a shootout.

We should control the LOS. Veer and shoot has to involve a good run game to work and they aren’t going to run on us effectively

My main concern is Tennessee's depth on Defense this weekend. Starters out this weekend include: DT Daevin Hobbs, CB Jermod McCoy, CB Ricky Gibson. We'll see how it all unfolds, but I think it will be an exciting game either way.

You really don’t have a good sample size with Lebby considering he had zero to work with in his first season

True...much like Heupel at Tennessee when they had 37 players transfer out between firing Pruitt and hiring Heupel leading up to the 2021 season. Mississippi State lost 28 players after the '23 season...so it takes a bit to get up to speed with the new roster.
