Not sure if this has already been posted and I missed it, but I saw this little footnote in the SEC announcement about schedules:

quote:

To meet the scheduling priorities established by the conference and its members, the 2026 conference schedule includes cases where schools play at the same venue in back-to-back years. This occurred in the past when the SEC changed schedule formats.

UGA notably had to play at Auburn back to back in 2012 and 2013. It is entirely possible, if not likely, the the Prayer in Jordan hare and AU's miracle run to the title game never occurs if that game was played in Athens as it should've. Of course the league and our spineless AD never made any stink about correcting it so they've just been riding that freebie for 12 years.

So help me, if we have to play there next year as well as this year I'm gonna lose it. I wonder what other teams are gonna get fricked by this?

Aggies will likely have to play in Austin again in 2026.

Meh. Title run or not, they would have claimed it anyway.

other than 2012-2013 after mizz/atm joined, when else? I'm not denying or saying you're wrong I'm just curious.

I know LSU/UF did it aroudn 10 years ago due to a storm but they made that one right by doing 2/2 and getting things back on track, unlike us and auburn..

Alabama played LSU in Baton Rouge back to back in 1991 and 1992.

Alabama won both, so it didn't really factor into anything.

bullshite. There was a lot of stink made over it by both Georgia and Auburn. Auburn even asked to play in Athens back to back to correct the schedule mess it made. The SEC said nah.

Somehow I am sure Arkansas will play at Florida again a few times before they make their trip to Fayetteville in 20 years.

That will be the last straw. They will leave the conference.

damn none of those dates involve conference expansion years...what was the reasoning behind those?

Google's AI was wrong. I checked the series history because it didn't make sense to me on second thought.

It does appear that Ole Miss played in Tuscaloosa back to back in 2012 and 2013.

yes I'm sure there were a couple instances in the 2012/2013 schedule due to new additions that year. I wasn't sure of any other examples though not invovling an expansion year.
