To Tennessee: To defeat a weak opponent is not the problem: The problem is to win when he is as good or better than you

To Arkansas: Football is a battle. Go out to fight and keep it up all afternoon.

To Auburn: If the line goes forward, the team wins; if it comes backward, the team loses.

To Ol Miss: Never lose the ball on downs.

To Alabama: You never know what a football player is made of until he plays Georgia.

To Georgia: Ball, oskie, cover, block, cut and slice, pursue and gang tackle… for this is the WINNING EDGE.

To Florida: The team that makes the fewest mistakes win.

To Mississippi State: Play for and make the breaks and when one comes your way - SCORE

To LSU: Be aggressive, you can't win the game on your side of the scrimmage line.

To Texas: A winning team quickens its play as it nears the goal line!

To Kentucky: When you throw the ball, three things can happen -- and two of them are bad

To Oklahoma: Eleven men in every play.

To Texas A&M: You can't fight like a man with less than 100% loyalty and college spirit.

To Missouri: These are for SEC teams, not a bunch of yankees.

To Vanderbilt: Use your eyes, your hands, your legs, and your head.

I think this is a Les Miles quote, but fair enough.

Like the Bear this is one thing you DO NOT make fun of!!!

Neyland and Bryant built this conference, it just goes to show you have no knowledge of what you entered into and should STFU!

This quote has been around for a long, long time before Les Miles was even a coach.

eta: Per AI

When a pass is thrown in football, three outcomes can occur: a completion (which is good), an incompletion (bad), or an interception (also bad). This statement is a famous quote from football coach Woody Hayes and reflects his preference for a conservative, run-based offense over passing.

Can we boot these fools now?

General Neyland's 7 Maxims

1. The team that makes the fewest mistakes will win.

2. Play for and make the breaks and when one comes your way - SCORE.

3. If at first the game - or the breaks - go against you, don't let up... put on more steam.

4. Protect our kickers, our QB, our lead and our ball game.

5. Ball, oskie, cover, block, cut and slice, pursue and gang tackle... for this is the WINNING EDGE.

6. Press the kicking game. Here is where the breaks are made.

7. Carry the fight to our opponent and keep it there for 60 minutes.

I didn't see any proof of that. Even if he did, credit the crowd?

The crowd being loud on offense? Please, nobody is forcing you to write dumb things but here we are.

Many of these came from this site that posted his lost maxisms.

That is another quote that has been assigned to every old school coach from that era...

Depending on where you live...

Bear Bryant said it..
DKR said it..
Woody Hayes said it...

No video of that happening. There is video of Freeze standing near a ref and yet no time out signaled.

Oklahoma is so overrated but I love it. We finally get to see their fast at their peak when they believe their team is actually good again. Their delusions are cute.
