The OL seems to have their rhythm even without Greene. Richardson played very well. But the DBs, OMG. Recruiting hasn't been bad in the secondary, do we need a new coach back there?

Secondary pass defense is atrocious. It seems after 4 games it must not be fixable.

Yaro doesn't impress me at all as a safeties coach. The play in that room has eroded significantly since Baker left.

But we brought in alot of experience. Has Catalon even made a tackle this season? The other transfers seem lost. Pride got burned again. I think a change of coaching is in order for 2026.

Try something. It's like Keystone Cops back there.

CB is the the most physically demanding position on the field. Even the best CBs get beat. The safeties misreading pad level and not providing over the top help is inexcusable. Yaro isnt getting the job done IMO

I do not believe HCED would use the word “crap” in a press conference to refer to student athletes. Coaches yes athletes no.

Long time no post. Glad to be back

I agree the front 7 look borderline elite. However the DB'S remain lost.

I believe the talent is there to play several times better than what we've seen.

We need to make a change now.

The rush defense is elite. The pass rush is very very good. The opposing offenses would rather take their chances throwing obviously so the dbs will get targeted. I'm calling it right now, Vanderbilt and OU's qbs are gonna exploit this. Both teams lost to us last year and they will be ready to play.

The talent and athleticism are there. I don't want to throw all of the blame at the coaches too, the players need to adapt -- the experience is there. I am sure they'll look phenominal in our next game ... and then comes Bama 2 weeks later.

My problem is that they are all experienced, most come from different programs where fundamentally they seemed sound if not very good. Catalon has owned the secondary since his Freshman year at Arkansas. His problem is injuries. Yet even he has his eyes in the wrong place. What kind of voodoo coaching forces all the safeties to have no eye discipline?

Whoever is playing centerfield looks like t-ball player; runs around not knowing what's he's supposed to do or where to be.

The bench has always been the best way to motivate players, but only when the bench is deep. Our bench is deep.

Play Greco and Banner more, try Phillips some vs UMASS. Send a message to Burks, and especially Catalon.

Burks played arguably his best game as a Tiger and graded out at 72 per PFF. The rest of the safeties and CBs graded out low 60s or worse.

Catalon was the biggest culprit last week for sure. Carnell explained it as guys "wanting to get in on the action" in front of them. Just an eye discipline issue.

I dont think anyone would argue this but it has been 33% of the season now and the problem hasn't changed in the least.

I don't think we're going to see a mid-season coaching change, so sitting Catalon might be the best bet. He's been around long enough to know what he needs to fix.
Good football teams get better as the season goes on, so we've got 66% of our season left to improve.

it seems like such a simple thing to improve upon and it is our only glaring weakness. I'm sure Drink is on this as if we can fix it, we are a legit SECC contender.
