Does Freeze or Durkin get fired first?

And for the idiots that were saying that Durkin could take over if Freeze gets fired, a 5 win season might seem like a dream season if that were to happen. The offense gave the defense the lead today, and Durkin went full prevent mode to let Ok march right down the field.

I thought all around, the defense did ok today. They got screwed by the refs so huge twice today it would have turned the game. Maybe get off their back a bit.

I am sick of losing and Freeze cannot seem to get us over the hump.

They did great until the offense gets the lead. Seen it time and again last season.

Not calling for Durkin but in case you have not figured it out a 5 win season is likely our peak with Freeze this year. Just look at the remaining schedule and count the games AU will be favored to win which we know is meaningless with Freeze.

Maybe so, but I was saying with Durkin as HC we wouldn’t even get 5. He sucks as a HC and sucks as a DC.

The defense held OU under 20 points all while the offense was 3 and out a bunch and put the defense in bad positions.
This is not on the defense.
Offensive play calling. QB missing wide open guys, holding the ball and the offensive line just got its arse handed to us. I am afraid Freezes new offensive line is going to take a lot of arse kickings this year. OU is not the best front we are going to face.
Overall we are pretty good on defense overall. The offense is not good yet and not sure if it will get good.
And with all that said, we should have won by double digits today if the refs had not fisted us

I don't think Freeze has beaten but one ranked team in his 3 years. Not getting it done and it's time to cut bait.

Semantics, but they scored 24. And yes, the offense was far from great, but they gave the defense a lead late in the game. It was Durkin’s dumb arse that changed what had been working all game and quickly gave up that lead.
And what about the Baylor game when Durkin’s great game plan gave up 400 passing yards? It’s not a one time thing. Last season, how many 4th quarter leads did the defense give up?

The defense gave up 22 points. Durkin has nothing to do with a safety (or any pick 6 we have). He also only gave 300 yards to a solid offense. Is Durkin one of the absolute best DCs in the country? No, but he's a solid DC and not the reason we lost today.

This is perfectly understandable, but of the two Durkin is the only one remotely doing his job well. We were 28th in scoring defense last year, which considering we royally sucked offensively is solid. We are around the same this year.

I would be fine promoting Durkin to HC and give him a shot. I really have no problem with the defense. Defense has never been the problem at AU. Our offense has sucked since 2014 (2017 being the exception). Just God awful offense with 3 different HCs.
What's the difference? QB. We have had shite QB play since Marshall (with Stidham being the exception).
