Slow down Georgia by...
-Keeping Stockton in the pocket.
-Limit the running game/screen game.
-Focus on taking away Zechariah Branch!

What Bama must do...
-Play with DISCIPLINE
-Bring the ENERGY
-Win at the line of scrimmage (on both sides)
-Keep Ty Simpson upright
-Get Miller and Riley going
-ATTACK Georgia's Secondary (The Weakest I've seen it in a long time)

X Factors for this game: Jam Miller, Tim Kennan, and Cole Adams!

Just my opinion.

What are yall thinking?

Do what Tennessee did in the first quarter, but do that for the whole game.

They attacked Georgia's secondary vertically!

Kirby and staff are very good at making adjustments. One might exploit a weakness but they’re good at fixing the problem also.

You just can’t expect to beat them throwing the ball 80% of the time. Gotta find a way to burn them with the ground game catching them in a blitz.

They’re gonna do their best establishing the run game. Theres no question about that. Bama LB’s better play they’re absolute best.

Asking an awful lot from this defense

Stifle the run, especially the qb(we have struggled).
The secondary is gonna have to live up to their preseason reputation.
Mistake free on offense without stupid mental lapses.
Cannot turn the ball over.

Georgia didn’t set the world on fire yesterday running the ball against Tennessee, even though it got TDs on some short runs, and if not for Heupel’s idiocy should have lost to a team that threw more than it ran by a small margin.

Tennessee absolutely blew it. Like 8 times over in that game.

This is the only path to us winning IMO.

They had a guy or two who got picked on a bit by a pretty hot and cold Joey Aguilar.

If we can protect Ty there will be chunk plays downfield available.

My guess is they pressure/run blitz Ty and we will have to be able to hit slants and quick hitters to force them back.

If that happens it’ll open up everything else.

I don’t think we can run man up against their front 7 until I see otherwise.

Defensively Id take away the run game and hope our secondary can man up with their receivers. The key there is probably how much pressure we can get on Stockton without giving him run seams.

I am glad Georgia won, I am on record here that I always, pretty much all my life, have pulled for them when they aren’t playing us or aren’t playing a game when it would be in our best interests for them to lose, because my paternal lineage is from the area around Athens.

But as someone who follows the game I find myself screaming at stupidity even if it’s being done by a team I detest.

Aguilar is a good field general but has a rag arm, yet he threw for 371 yards and four touchdowns against Georgia. If they make us pass, Ty is a better field general and doesn’t have a rag arm, and should be able to make them pay even more if we give him time.

I wouldn’t disagree with any of that. I would suspect they will test Bama’s D with Gunner running the ball if the lanes are there. It’s been a weakness of this D. Hopefully they can be ready for that.

Ty > Aguilar
Our WRs > TN WRs
Jam + Riley > TN RBs
Our OL < TN OL

We have to get better up front but if TN can move the ball on them so can we.

Scheme is similar-ish but more pro-style in nature than Vols veer n shoot.

However DeBoer wants to attack people deep and that has always been how to get a Smart defense. Take your chances with the one on ones and not punching it out at the LOS.
