Urban Meyer: ‘Bama needs some ‘grown-arse’ men to stand up’

Take this as you will but Urban Meyer was on Colin Cowherd’s YouTube show yesterday, said he couldn’t believe what he saw from Bama on Saturday both in real time and in reviewing film, and he said coaches can only do so much, that it takes “some grown-arse men” … as in tough, veteran players … “standing up in the locker room and saying, ‘We’re not going to put up with this.’”

I’m aware that the scheme and the coaching played a role. I don’t think it was totally responsible and I think Meyer has something there.

Do we have any of those “grown-arse men?”

He said he’d heard that is what happened to Ohio State last year after losing to Michigan, it wasn’t anything Ryan Day or his staff did, some “grown-arse men” stood up in the locker room and said, “No more of this s**t!”

Meyer has no room to talk Mr fake a heart attack whenever I want out. He tucked tale and ran from every job he didn’t get fired from.

I don’t let rivalries or not liking someone personally impede my recognizing when they make good sense.

They put freshman in throughout the game which caused some issues defensively.

Uh, no. It had to do with players being out of position, beaten by the man in front of them, and especially giving pathetic effort. It’s very hard to describe that poor effort level without profanity.

Uh yes....some of the time. Not saying that was the reason we lost or that upper classmen didn't make all the mistakes you mentioned. Just saying on some of the dline mistakes it was because they were using freshman at times.

Poorly coached team imo

I never understand what Wommack’s obsession is with constantly rotating players. On the DL. Ok. But why at DBs?

Was surprising to see D.Lee at CB getting burned for a TD

No true freshman CB did well under Saban
