I'm going to play Devil's Advocate here. Looking at the teams Deboer lost to and those of the coaches who did it quicker, it's not as bad as it seems. Three out of four of Deboer's losses came to perrenially ranked schools. Only the Vandy loss looks really bad. Of the five coaches above him, only three out of twenty I'd say are excusable for the same reason, those being Texas, Georgia, and Florida.

I know FSU had a historically bad year last year, but that doesn't mean it'll be the same this year. Losing to Michigan in a bowl game. C'mon man, that could happen to anyone. So could losing to Oklahoma.

Now if they go out and lose to ULM this week like they've been known to do, I'll eat my crow and admit they suck.

You're not completely wrong, but they looked so pathetic in most of those games the other team was almost never in danger.

Another "look at my insecure, litte-dicked, stupid arse" post by koreandawg.

You sidewalk fans are the worst.

You haven't been to a game in how many years, if ever?

Brian Kelly took over a program so decimated that a wide receiver had to play in its bowl game just prior to him taking over.
Deboer took over a team led by Nick fricking Saban for 17 years.

FSU finished 2022 ranked #13.

Using preseason rankings for this analysis is beyond stupid.

Exactly...Brian Kelly's should have been

Brian Kelly (@LSU) - 38 (2022 - aTm, 2024 - USC, aTm, Florida)

2022 aTm finished 5-7 unranked
2024 USC finished 7-6 unranked
2024 aTm finished 8-5 unranked
2024 Florida finished 8-5 unranked

So, he isn't at 41 & counting...he lost to the 4th unranked team in game 38. That was a really good catch on your part.

It's more honest.

Take Les Miles' first home game at LSU, for example.

Tennessee came into Tiger Stadium on a Monday night, 2 days after Hurricane Rita flooded coastal Louisiana, ranked #10 after a preseason ranking of #3. They came back from a 21 point deficit to win the game in OT.

Unfortunately, Tennessee would go on to finish the season with 6 losses and unranked, while LSU would end up winning 9 games on consecutive weekends, only to succumb to UGA in the SECCG and finishing 11-2, with a Peach Bowl win over Miami, and #5 in the nation.

Should that early season loss to Tennessee really go on LSU's record as a top ten loss, or a loss to an unranked team?

It was weird because Bama fans were here trashing BK nearly every day of the offseason

BK at LSU

Talent
2022: #8
2023: #7
2024: #8
2025: #6

.732 win percentage

Kalen DeBoer at Bama

Talent
2024: #1
2025: #1

.643 win percentage

I see your point. Any team that loses to someone with Rick Clausen as the QB should not count it as a quality win.

By that approach, we would adjust Phil Fulmer's list as well (using post season rankings)

Phil Fulmer - 120 (1994 - UCLA, 1996 - Memphis, 2002 - Florida, 2003 - Auburn)

Yet in a couple of their wins against ranked teams they looked dominant. They beat ranked Missouri and ranked LSU back to back games by a combined score of 76-13.

It is the damnedest thing. It has to be a preparation, organizational and motivational issue. All the ugly unranked losses came away from home. The staff has to find a way to keep the team focused for away games instead of the team acting like they are on spring break.

You tigs need to figure it out and make up your mind. Did something like this a few months back and I was told by a Tiger fan using year end rankings is stupid because of injuries and such.

I mean… not really going to bat for Lebby here, but credit where due. That clock should still be running. ASU did finish top 10 and go to the playoff.

But I guess the Toledo debacle should count for two it was so bad.

They also love to point out how 2024 was bad due to lack of talent.
