That was most definitely a touchdown

The ball was clearly moving and out of his control even before he hit the ground. Get your eyes checked.

Never left possession of I believe his right hand.

Yeah he one handed it to avoid the defender. Only bobbled after he hit the ground. If the ground can’t “cause a fumble” then it shouldn’t count as a defender knocking the ball loose. The rule needs to be tweaked to avoid taking away high level skill plays like this.

The defender knocked it out his hands after the fourth step, out of bounds. Maintaining the ball to the ground is a non factor after 4 steps of control.

It was incomplete just like the LSU one. He controlled it, but didn’t maintain it. Once you are out of bounds, if it moves at all (touching the ground or not), it is incomplete.

Right call by the review just like last night.

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight
Not a footprint to be seen
A kingdom of isolation
And it looks like I'm the queen
The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I tried
Don't let them in, don't let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know
Well, now they know
Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don't care what they're going to say
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway
It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small
And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all
It's time to see what I can do
To test the limits and break through
No right, no wrong, no rules for me
I'm free
Let it go, let it go
I am one with the wind and sky
Let it go, let it go
You'll never see me cry
Here I stand and here I stay
Let the storm rage on
My power flurries through the air into the ground
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I'm never going back, the past is in the past
Let it go, let it go
And I'll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand in the light of day
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway

Agreed but the rule as it is now gives the ruling as an option to the refs. Even though it’s obvious he had control through the steps they put more emphasis on the whole “control to the ground” which as we saw in this play is bull shite. Just like yesterday it was a TD once he broke the goal line they put all the emphasis on possession on control to the ground.

This also should be bullshite because if the ground can’t “cause a fumble” how can it also cause “loss of possession”

Do you hear how ridiculous this statement is? Once he is out of bounds they play is over immediately. You can barely break the plane with a ball and fumble and it's a touchdown. But make a catch with 4 steps go out of bounds and the ball moves it's not. Ludicrous.

No. It’s not ridiculous. According to you, if a player gets one foot in bounds after the “catch” the ball, and throws it up in the air, then it is a catch.

You have to maintain control to the ground if the play takes you there. This isn’t him taking 5 steps after the catch and then losing it. He got a second foot down on his way to the ground and then lost the ball. Clear cut incompletion. You may not like the rule but that is the rule.

It’s like most in here claiming that magically being in the end zone eliminates the rules of what is a catch.

If a player loses the ball out of the end zone trying to make a catch, they don’t call it a catch, and fumble, and thus a touchback. It’s an incomplete pass.

You have to have control, two feet down and make a football move in order for it to be a catch. He didn’t do that.

It’s amazing how many people don’t seem to understand the rules.
