Offensively
*Ty Simpson did pretty good for his first real game in an electric environment. He made a few mistakes but he also made plays and almost converted a big time fourth in forever by himself. He changed plays at the line of scrimmage as well. Not the outcome we wanted but it'll be beneficial in the long run. He can learn from this easily.

*Kevin Riley needs more touches. Dude seemed like he had an extra gear.

*Daniel Hill ran and caught the ball pretty good.

*Germie Bernard played a heck of a game. He got injured and came back and gave it his all.

Defensively
*LT Overton flashed but he wasn't consistent enough.
*Isaiah Faga played hard for a first timer.
*London Simmons played pretty good as well.
*James Smith flashed but he plays undisciplined at times...and it cost us.
*Hill-Green looked better than both Lawson and Jefferson by a wide margin.
*Domani Jackson played a pretty good game.
*Bray Hubbard flashed but often times they ran away from him.

Specialist
*Conor Talty did a tremendous job bounces back from his first missed field goal.
*Blake Daud did a decent job as well

At the end of the day...our TRENCHES has to get better. Our playmakers have to make plays for our INEXPERIENCE quarterback when they are presented. We had a ton of DROPS.

Start EXECUTING plays better and this is a DIFFERENT conversation...a win.
Stop commiting DUMB penalties and this is a totally different conversation.

I'm not going to panic because...

This LOSS will make this team BETTER. Coach Deboer has never been known for losing and it's not going to start here. He'll get them on TRACK!

I appreciate the positivity but I didn’t wear enough sunscreen to be in this thread.

No he didn’t. Jalen Hurts syndrome. Held the ball until the guy was wide open. If the guy didn’t get wide open it was a negative play.

Throwing 40+ times a game didn’t help a QB in his first start.

Calling TOs randomly and wasting them shows poor coaching.
(ETA: They weren't random they were because the play clock was chewing down, etc. which is even worse.)

Awful personal fouls show lack of discipline from the coaches.

Letting our kicker kick a 53 yard FG when he doesn’t have the leg is poor coaching.

Not having a balanced offense is poor coaching.

Not being able to catch a fricking ball is poor coaching.

Not winning the trenches is a recipe for disaster.

We have a loaded roster as always. It isn’t because of that….

That's actually cap.

He threw in multiple windows to Germie Bernard but you don't want to hear that.

Oh and your STAR also dropped like 3 passes that was on TARGET for big GAINS... maybe even touchdowns.

But you don't want to HEAR that either.

I think he’ll be fine. Clearly needed game reps before this. Dudes were open that he didn’t go to and others he was late on.

The sad blonde Bama milf was the best part of the game IMO.

I’ve been concerned with the last two recruiting classes and portal additions in that there were ZERO difference makers at DT/DE. All of them are “ projects”. They may possibly be really good 3-4 years from now but none seem ready now.

Last year and this game showed we’re getting dominated and whipped up front.

The punter was pretty good which all the "experts" told us would be a disaster.

I know he missed SOME here and there. I didn't expect him to be PERFECT like some.

He'll learn from it though.

The OL actually played better than last year, but ty holds the ball way too long. He waits for his receivers to get open, doesn't throw with any anticipation.

Ty didn't really turn it over but he definitely could have been picked off multiple times.

Unfortunately the d line was mauled and the play b calling asked Ty to win the game

My thing is... Freddie Roach hasn't developed a SOUL.

He's the real PROBLEM.

Well why didn't they pick him off then? Look our receivers DROPPED passes just like Ty missed some throws.

if the offensive line was so good... please tell me why we dang near abandoned the RUN?

We need to part ways with these legacy coaches. None of them are worth a shite.

Well Kadyn Proctor isn’t supposed to be a project, he’s a 5 star player and he’s supposed to be a 1st round draft pick. But he plays like a fat, slow, weak sack of shite that commits dumb penalties at critical times and gets pushed back into the QB by much lesser players because he has no dog in him at all.
I’ll take the projects as long as they play with their hair on fire.
