CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Florida State quarterback Tommy Castellanos isn't backing down from comments he made this summer suggesting Alabama didn't have Nick Saban to "save them" in the Week 1 matchup between the two teams.

"We stand on what I said," Castellanos said Wednesday. "I said what I said and we stand on that. I said frick Nick Saban and all those guys at Alabama and all that. I have confidence in my guys and the work we've been putting in and preparing and the preparation we've been putting together. That's all that was. No disrespect to those guys but we stand on what I said."

Different era where Saban had the REC/boosters paying more than any other program and could buy whichever recruits he wanted. Then they were stuck there for 3-5 years because of the strict transfer rules. Now 4 and 5 stars can’t be stockpiled.
This era alabama loses to Vandy, 6-6 Oklahoma, and a 5 loss Michigan team.

Gonna enjoy watching the total FSU implosion this season. That roster composition is BRUTAL in year 6 of Norvell, I can't imagine their rotten admin doesn't (once again) raid education funding or whine to the legislature for another taxpayer bailout to buy out Norvell

We’ll see how DeBoer handles it. Alabama should win this game on talent alone but there’s that uncertainty with how DeBoer has a tendency to play to the level of his opponents.
