Absolutely Have to Play Games:
Auburn vs Alabama
Georgia vs Florida
Alabama vs Tennessee
Auburn vs Georgia
Ole Miss vs Miss St
Texas vs Texas A&M
Texas vs Oklahoma

Games that are Likely but not Assured

Tennessee vs Vanderbilt
Georgia vs South Carolina
Arkansas vs Texas
Arkansas vs Missouri
LSU vs Ole Miss
LSU vs Texas A&M

With that said, here are my projected 3 for each team, listed in order of likelihood…

The Likely Annual Rivalries

Alabama: AU, TN, MSU
Arkansas: TX, MIZ, LSU
Auburn: AL, UGA, VAN
Florida: UGA, SC, TN
Georgia: UF, AU, SC
Kentucky: MSU, MIZ, VAN
LSU: OM, A&M, ARK
Ole Miss: MSU, LSU, SC
Miss St: OM, AL, UK
Missouri: ARK, OU, UK
Oklahoma: TX, MIZ, A&M
S. Carolina: UGA, UF, OM
Tennessee: AL, VAN, UF
Texas: A&M, OU, ARK
Texas A&M: TX, LSU, OU
Vanderbilt: TN, AU, UK

Historic or recently attractive rivalries likely to get the axe:

Alabama vs LSU- I think the SEC and ABC/ESPN will fight to keep this one alive, but Bama will lobby hard for MSU instead.

Tennessee vs Kentucky- Sucks for Kentucky, but the Vols aren’t going to get Vandy and Kentucky every season… that’s too big of an advantage.

Florida vs LSU- If I had to pick one of these as most likely to survive annually, this would be it. But I think it gets the ax in the end.

UGA and Kentucky and UGA and Vandy are more traditional conference rivals than UGA and USC so UGA and USC probably make the cut given the nature of CFB in the era....

Yeah there are more meetings, but few think of Vandy or Kentucky as Georgia rivals.

The reason I think it’s UGA-SC is because they are going to try to give each team their biggest rival… and like it or not, UGA is Carolina’s biggest in-conference rival.

Getting to play against scrappy Vandy wayward players from directional school hyped up on speed and roid is a big no thanks pal.

The rumor out of the athletic department was that Vandy would fill out our three… apparently Auburn has said if we are going to be the only team who has to play both Alabama and Georgia annually, they were pushing for a weaker third opponent. That was the case a year or so ago at least.

I would call this "Absolutely Have To Play" due to being in the same state (like Ala./Aub. & Miss./MSU).

If it goes athletic department failed. That is the one actual rival we have in the conference

Obviously have history with others, but considering UK is one of the ones that alledged has stalled the switch to 9 games, I imagine keeping this would be a stipulation.

But in this day age nothing makes sense so idk

Don't put it past the SEC and ESPN to make Texas Bamas third permanent. Money for that would be too much to pass up. Sips having Aggie, Sooners and Bama I guess, if that did happen.

Since we expanded with A&M and Mizzou, Arkansas has been the worst program in the conference, not Kentucky or Vanderbilt.

Kentucky and Tennessee have been playing since 1893.

Kentucky and Vanderbilt since 1894.

Tennessee and Vanderbilt since 1892.

Get the frick over it.

Vandy is a perfect recipe for a permanent 11am game where Rod Gilmore is cheering against Auburn and hoping Vandy makes a play

The Vols will get Bama, Vandy and UK

We are Vandy and UK's biggest SEC rival and Bama is traditionally our biggest. Vandy and UK are already getting screwed with 9 conf games, they aren't going to take away the annual TN game too

I am not mad about it either

Most Alabama fans don't consider LSU a rival. Tennessee, yes. Auburn, yes.

Before divisions in 1992 LSU was basically what Georgia is to Alabama. And Georgia is at least a border state

USC becoming a potential power under Beamer could make the east very interesting. Doubt they become a perennial power but would be great.
