How valuable is Arkansas to the SEC really?

They came in hot with a basketball natty in the mid nineties. At that time, I feel like it was reasonable to believe that they would be a valued member. Plus they had some decent football teams in the nineties and early 2000s. But they have fallen completely off a cliff. No big 3 natties since. They don’t have a large fanbase or deliver major tv markets. They aren’t a compelling brand name. They honestly might have more fun in the big 12. For their athletic department, it should be more about having fun. Nobody cares about track and field championships. Plus they don’t really have a true rival. They are the type of program that is considered the fourth or fifth biggest rivalry by a lot of programs. They were not a founding member of the conference so they don’t really get any credit for turning the SEC into the juggernaut that it is today. And you’re probably thinking, “Can’t I say all of these things about South Carolina?” No, I don’t think you can. At least South Carolina is a nice state. I’m honestly not trying to be a dick, but Northeast and Central Arkansas are the closest places I’ve seen to the third world in the United States.

I'd much rather get rid of Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas before Arkansas. Probably has a lot to do with them being in the West and playing them every year that makes them feel like more of a conference team than those that I already named and South Carolina too.

I’m cool with getting rid of Missouri, Texas, and Oklahoma also.

I wish we'd go back to 10 and maybe replace Miss St with A&M.

This whole thread is proof that intelligence of some on this board is a minus 3 on a scale of 1 to 10.

And why is it ignorant? Everything I said is a hard truth that you just don’t want to accept.

There are some in this conference that have none at all

Arkansas appeared in the SEC Championship football game long before Georgia did.

Someone has never been to Mississippi or Louisiana and it shows.

I don't know how old you are but the SEC West kinda sucked back then.

Yeah, the only teams I can think of that don’t have a big 3 natty since Arkansas won their basketball natty are Missouri and Texas A&M. I’m cool with kicking them out too. In the 90s the East was better than the West. Notice how Arkansas has never actually won the SEC Championship game despite being there multiple times. I’ve seen UGA win 5 SEC Championship games. Yeah, commissioners don’t really give a shite about track and field. Who are we kidding? I was born in Mississippi and I went to law school at Tulane. I would rather live in the most ratchet parts of Louisiana and Mississippi over Northeast Arkansas.

Add Texas A&M to that list and I am all in.

These four are all great programs in their own right. But they are not a good fit for the SEC.

South Carolina and Arkansas? They are a good fit.

Then you should have extensively traveled the Mississippi Delta and Northeastern Louisiana enough to realize that Northeast Arkansas and both of the locations previously mentioned are one geographic area divided by a river.

It's the same place and your argument that NEA is worse is just disingenuous.

Using your logic, UF is the 2nd most valuable school in the SEC since we made the SEC title game before everyone except for Bama.
