Last year’s Iron Bowl was the first time I saw Auburn & Alabama players taking cheap shots

against each other.

I’m not saying it never happened before, but I don’t remember the players in that game not showing mutual respect and committing personal fouls, scuffling, etc. Before I always told people the fans would get heated but the players would play clean. Last year was disappointing.

Of course, last season started with me seeing Auburn players dancing around in the end zone like hooligans for the first time, so maybe I should have been prepared.

The last few have been more chippy than usual.

The fight after the Michigan/Tosu game set the tone for the rest of the rivalry games that day.

And with social media, you know all those kids saw that. By the time the evening and night games were going on there had already been several instances of that behavior.

You haven't been watching very long, obviously.

The two going at it were not even from the southeast, much less Alabama. Go figure.

Get ready for more of it this year @ Auburn.

I enjoy a little testy attitude and appreciate KLS going after Bama.

In terms of rivalry games in the SEC is seems relatively cordial. State vs OM and UGA be FL are definitely above it in terms is shenanigans.

All of the rivalry games last Thanksgiving were extra chippy thanks to the whole flag planting "controversy" during the Michigan OSU game.

These shenanigans are only going to escalate now that all of the schools are renting players. The rentals don't have as much respect for the schools or rivalry.

Be more specific. I was much too busy watching Freeze toss his QB and players under the bus after each loss.

I expected our game at Kyle to be the same. But, being so one-sided, the whole atmosphere just fell flat.
