Marshall has 60 something new players and when the book on the early wild wild west era of NIL is written, Marshall with have its own chapter. Meanwhile, Austin Peay's nickname is the Governors.
This is why if we look shaky running the ball against either one and don't clearly win the line of scrimmage, my expectations for the rest of the season will become extremely low. This has been the off-season when Kirby supposedly has been personally focused on our running game and stopping the run on defense and it was the focus of spring practice and the whole off-season.
If Radi or Brooks Austin start up with the "4 guys did their job right and it's just one guy who missed their assignment" shite after the Marshall and Austin Peay games like they did all last year, we are officially screwed.

It all starts here. We need to establish an identity offensively, first off. OL needs to get some confidence via game reps, as, honestly, does Gunner. We need to get a good yards per carry average going, really establish the run game, and mix in the new WR talent via good play calling. (Also, let’s be real, a big question mark.) Would like to see the 2nd and 3rd team out for plenty of reps too, we’ll need that experience down the line. The tendency we showed in the past couple years to play with our food/fart around with lesser competition needs to no longer be a thing right out of the gate.

I’d prefer the defense be altogether smothering. No games like UMass where we had to make excuses to calm ourselves.
