Dylan Loy headed out, will be a good pickup for someone. Could see CWS teams LSU and Arkansas in play for him, he apparently wants to play for a better program than where he is.

Serreneaux have any thoughts here? Locker room issues?

Serreneaux conveniently disappears with any negative news toward Tennessee which is often thankfully

Doubt he's worried about the program he's at, considering he already won a CWS at Tennessee. I'd say he's hoping for more time on the mound.

It's a bummer, considering he's an East Tennessee kid, but he's got a do what's best for him, similar to Chase Burns getting swapped from starter into a relief role and then transferring to Wake. He got a starting role and likely got drafted higher because of it, so good for him. These guys deserve absolutely whatever they can earn on the field.

I don't know if I would call him out "best relief pitcher," even if he has the best stats. He's been good, but often was used for favorable matchups for just a couple of outs and then swapped out.

Nothing to see here. College baseball is mercenary just like football, just slightly smaller paychecks.

To be fair, we were not the worst. Its played out at this point. Get over it and move on, we are not even in Omaha.

At the end of the season, Russell and Arvidson were our best relievers, not Loy.

You have to look at stats and opponents those stats were racked up against this season.

From 2/25 - 4/4 he allowed 0 earned runs in 13 games , and a 12-1 resulting record. This streak included 5 SEC wins and 1 SEC loss.

From 4/5-6/8 he allowed 17 earned runs in 19 games, and a 9-10 resulting record. This streak included 7 SEC wins and 11 SEC losses.

As a Freshman his ERA was 2.37, and this season it was 3.97 (overall 3.22), and he is credited with 4 saves this season.

So, statistically this season he was:

8th in ERA - 3.97
3rd in wins - 4
9th in Games Saved - 1
7th in innings pitched - 34.0 (which is ok for a reliever)

His season was solid statistically overall...but do you really equate 2.1 innings against Radford where he allowed 0 hits and 0 earned runs, and 1.1 innings against Northern Kentucky where he allowed 1 hit and 0 earned runs, to 0.2 innings against Kentucky where he allowed 2 hits and 2 earned runs, or 0.1 inning against Ole Miss where he allowed 2 hits and 2 earned runs?

AJ Russell was a starter. He was only a reliver due to him coming back from TJ. He also won't be back next year more than likely. Arvidson is also draft eligible.

What’s your point Loy wants to be a starter and get more money but he isn’t a starter type and was good not great. Hate to lose a kid from East TN but I don’t think it’s as a big deal as yall think

the point is he would have been your best returning reliver. Tennessee is also losing their top 2 starters. They're losing some arms this year

I don’t think anyone in Knoxville really cares about this other than losing a kid from Sevierville. This wasn’t even talked about on the radio. He wants to be a starter and we don’t want him to be that. I’m sorry yall want this to be more of a story than it is I guess.

Good teams lose good arms every year and have to fight through it. We lost Chase Burns and Dollander then won the natty. We lost Drew Beam and AJ Causey then didn’t make Omaha. That’s just college sports sometimes it hurts and sometimes it doesn’t

College teams lose arms every year. We'll ride with who we have at the time like Brady Frederick.

Half of his appearances were starts, half bullpen. He would be a projected starter if he returns.
