Both the #1 and #2 seed couldn't make it out of their own regionals. That has to be some kind of record.

I heard it's the first time it's happened in the super regional era (so since 1999).

for once I agree with Buster. That's why I love college baseball. David beats Goliath quite often and it's what makes this game so great imo.
