fan-favorite, old-school Crimson Tide logo is returning on the University of Alabama's new license plate design, available at state offices starting in June.
For years, the Capstone has designed license plates that drivers can buy to fund scholarships for in-state students at Alabama. In a Thursday press release, a UA spokeswoman said the initiative sold more than 120,000 vehicle and motorcycle tags last year alone, generating over $5 million for undergraduate and graduate program scholarships.

I see pictures of Oats, players and staff wearing gear that features this logo. Any chance they bring it back as the official one?

Always liked this one too, but I'd change the color of the A and update the font.

This is what we want. We should have never gone away from this.

This, and every variation of it, sucks:

This is OK for a field/court logo:

I'm unsure if the reason for this move is just because there seems to be a bit of a vintage logo revival in casual wear. Wearing old jerseys styled up has been a bit of a zoomer woman trend.
My other thought is that this is a similar trajectory taken post-Bryant where there was a concerted marketing effort to remind people that UA football has a legacy that extends beyond one man. For example, Alabama made a point to highlight the pre-Bryant national title claims much more in the 1980s. Perhaps this is meaning to harken back to the Bryant era to remind the public that Alabama has had great coaches before Saban with the inference that we will have one again.

This.
Angry Elelphant is reviled not so much for it's design, it's pretty standard, but for the fact that just about nothing good happened under it.
Alabama won a grand total of 1 National Championship in anything under the angry elephants.... Gymnastics.

Alabamas basketball court looked so dumb in the early 2000s with that stupid huge elephant logo.
