Settle this for me. Which is correct?

1. There is a regular season conference champion and there is a tournament champion

Or

2. The regular season is just to determine the conference tournament seeding and the tournament champion is the conference champion

The “Official” SEC Champion is the regular season Champion.

All the SEC tournament decides is who wants to burn enough arms so they can claim a tournament championship.

Not really bc if ur a borderline or not projected not to make the postseason, winning the tournament championship gets you an automatic berth

Regular season title is for the men. Tournament title is for the women and children.

This is retarded. 30 SEC games aren't played simply to decide seeding for a single elimination tournament.

Both are a big deal but regular season champion means more and I don't even know how that's debatable.

To be clear, I thought it was #1 but I heard some people arguing #2 this week so I was curious because I've never really heard that.

I’ve always been more impressed by the regular season champ than the tourney champion.

Softball tourney means so little, they sent everybody home after a rainout and declared co-champs without a final.

1. The SEC tournament means nothing, but winning the SEC regular season is admirable. That said, in our conference THE goal is a national championship.

At least for most programs. We have others that print cups and peacock when that win lesser championships and whatnot.
