Who was the best coach in Florida history? Ervin Meyers or Steve Spurier?

I’m going with Spurier.
He only won one national title, but he won more SEC championships and maintained a dominant program for a longer period of time. Florida was feared in the 90s by just about everyone. It was amazing.

Urban won two national titles in 6 years. Case closed.

I miss seeing Spurrier on the sidelines.

Ervin Meyers has never won a championship

Just a few years ago he was in position to challenge Saban as tGOAT. I was surprised he didn't take a job but I think he's too old for a major program now. He was somewhat radioactive but the skins on his wall were a strong counter-argument.

Coach is debatable, but the most influential person of Florida football is by far Spurrier.

Charley Pell.
Vol, mutt, and bammer ****s had to conspire and generate hoaxes to get him removed because they knew it was gameover for them.

Best? Don't know.
Most entertaining? Spurier hands down. Dang, wish he was still coaching.

Irving Meyers would have been the best but he faked a heart attack and left the UF program in shambles. You can't be the best coach after completely decimating the program.

Can you imagine the run we would have had in the 2nd half of the 80's?
Even with all of the bullshite the vols and mutts lied about, we still won 84 and 85 nattys with better claims on them than half of Bama's "titles"

Spurrier built it.
Meyer inherited it.

Well, the moment another great coach arrived Urban got out of dodge, so…
Spurrier.
Spurrier.

You guys were guilty of 59 infractions, and Pell admitted to them; not to mention that he got Clemson in trouble as well in his short tenure there.

It doesn't matter because Saban was better than both of them.

All ticky tack garbage that other SEC powers were openly doing. Was bullshite but our admin back then was too chickenshit to stand up for whats right, not to mention the SEC league office told us to just take the punishment and they would pet usnkeep the 84 SEC title, then afterwards held a vote to strip the title.

Spurrier never allowed a murderer to play on his team.
The OBC changed college football. His "Fun N Gun" offense was revolutionary. Spurrier's impact on college football was positive. Urban Meyer is an oozing open wound on the game and on the University of Florida.

This is exaggeration and revisionist history. Florida wasn’t that bad after he left. Year 2 of the Will Muschamp era was an 11-1 season using Meyers’ players.
Muschamp let it fall apart after that and ole Yellow Teeth Jim McElwain sucked as well.
