What I’m trying to figure out is if say you are ranked 1 and then win your next game (like Arky), wouldn’t you be ranked 1 again? And to lose your 1 rank you have to lose while ranked 1?

Its possible you win a close game and another highly ranked team had a convincing win and jumped you. But there are too many teams listed with no or few losses and it seems strange.

Let’s say a prayer for Boston College, SMU, and Wisconsin who climbed to #1 for 1 glorious week in their entire history only to immediately lose

and especially for Mizzou, who managed to do this twice

It feels like from every single metric LSU is always ranked between 9-11 all time

Honestly, in football that’s where we fall for all time rankings. About the 10-15 range. Which is a hell of an improvement in the last 25 years. If we would have done this in 2000, we would be ranked around 20-25.

We are at worst 12. Definitely not 15

Also just taking out 25 years of a program’s history is crazy. That’s a lot of staying power. LSU was comfortably 16-20 and made a huge leap. The program was strong its entire history minus being atrocious from 1988-1999

I completely agree with you! I think LSU should be considered a modern day blue blood. The thing that works against us though, is when most colleges really started getting on tv in the 90’s, we were trash. If you do a poll for CFB programs this century (21st century) we’re top 3-4 program with no argument.

Pretty sure LSU was 13th or 14th in wins in the 20th century. They were a good program, just with only one national championship.

Florida hasn’t been relevant since 92. They’re like the opposite of Texas. Texas hasn’t been relevant but once year since WW2
