Going 0-fer in conference should be near impossible ...

Should we just nuke the program from space and start a Cricket team?

I know it's been beaten to death, but for good reason...they NEED to build a new stadium somewhere else. The location is miserable and freezing cold. Obviously a close second in priority would be hiring a legitimate coach and boosting funding. But the fan interest won't be there until a new stadium is built.

Where do we need to build it?

Knock down the Hearnes build a new stadium in its footprint. Build a new Olympic sports complex in the footprint of Taylor.

Could we ever be top 5 in SEC baseball?

Does Mizzou have the cash for this?

It's a chicken/egg problem. Where does one go while the other is being built?

Finally give in and sell some naming rights to Anheuser Busch and there would probably be enough cash flow.

The Gymnasts can go to Mizzou Arena, the baseball can be played at a number of High School fields that are hardly any worse than the current facility.

I think this would only apply to indoor track. Everyone else can integrate into Mizzou arena and of course the baseball stadium would stay up until new one is built.

The main problem with fan interest in the Mizzou baseball program is that it has to be locals who attend. Even when we were decent to good, no one was driving 90 minutes to attend a college baseball game when they could just go to a Cards game instead.

They need to provide a reason for the CoMo crowd to show up during a weekend.

With all that being said if you gave me the option when I was attending of either going to a Mizzou game or driving to STL for a Cards game, I chose the Cardinals every time, amd that was when we were good and going to the Regionals each year. Baseaball is the one sport where I just don't get the appeal of watching the inferior product.

It is not just for using events that they need their own space. Both wrestling and gymnastics require their own facilities for practice space as well as locker rooms etc. Indoor track obviously needs a larger space just to have a track and throwing space.

and all those (other than indoor track) would have zero issues. Everything was based out of Hearnes before Mizzou Arena came around. MA has even more practice areas than Hearnes did.

How would you integrate volleyball (M&W), gymnastics, wrestling, and basketball (M&W) into one facility without impacting each of the others - especially Basketball?

I could see this working. Baseball plays at some school field while they build the new "Olympic Sports" facility. No disruption to them during construction and they just move when completed.

It would mean baseball is playing at a middle school for 2+ years.

Collegiate baseball sucks. Other things can be invested in than a stadium that will still remain empty.

You got the royals on one direction and the cardinals in the other.

Very good point. I was the same way.
