Has Kiffin talked to Nico's camp? It seems he might have and he has the facts.

“I’m not really going to comment much on that. I don’t know all the details,” Kiffin stated . “I think that, you know, that happens a lot, with media, with fans obviously nowadays, with how quickly things are put out, or somebody says something from an unnamed source, and all those things and all these comments are made, in this instance, about a kid, and we don’t even have the facts to know if the stuff and the narrative out there is even true. So I don’t think it’s really fair to take shots at him when all the facts and details of the situation aren’t out there and seem to just be, you know, more in favor of the program side.

“We’re able to have a big voice, as a program, when a kid leaves or something, because we’ve got much more access to the media and controlling the message than the kid does. So, I don’t know the details in that. I think it’s a little bit unfair what’s going on, especially because I hear the other side, that those details that are out there are not accurate.”

Continuing, Kiffin was also asked what Ole Miss would do if a player decided to hold out for more NIL money, like Iamaleava was reported to have done in Knoxville. Still, the coach isn’t so sure that’s exactly what happened, and Kiffin stated his belief that it’s unfair to paint that picture of the now-former SEC quarterback.

“I’m not going to get into that too much, because I think that’s the narrative that’s out there of what happened,” Kiffin added . “I’ll just say I’ve talked to the other side of that, and Nico’s side is a very different story of what happened. So, I don’t think it’s fair to comment on that, or say that that’s exactly what took place.”

I wouldn't be surprised if Nico doesn't sign with UCLA, sits out, and is back in the SEC in 2026.

This would be a lot more meaningful if he hadn’t spent a year trolling Judkins and his mom on Twitter after he transferred for more money.

That's just a bunch of talking without really saying anything.

To say what he did, the way he did, he’s either talked to Nico’s people, whether he dialed the phone or they did, or he’s lying. The only other option is On3 made it up, and I promise you despite what conspiracy theorists think that doesn’t happen if an outlet wants to have any credibility.

I'm sure a lot of coaches reached out to his agent to see what was up, both in interest of Nico and to see if there was anything they could use to negatively recruit against Tennessee with.

This would make so much more sense if Nico hadn't skipped practice. The moment he didn't show up for practice, he lost the narrative.

He didn't say shite.

What he did say doesn't make sense when you consider that Nico absolutely was "holding out" when he decided to not attend practice.

Maybe. I just think Kiffin’s a loose, unpredictable, untrustworthy cannon.

Why would anyone, even Kiffin, believe anything Nico's "reps" have to say? They were already outed as liars last week.

That's what he wants people to think.

Y’all forget Kiffin is connected to Southern California and Hawaii (he was the one who recruited Tua). He probably knows Nico’s dad. The Polynesian football community is a small one and they’re all connected.

I think every high profile transfer QB talks to Kiffin. He’s a great QB coach and he’s positioned his program as one of the best places to be for transfer players.

I’m amazed how we’ve all witnessed traditional news media exposed as biased and outright liars. But, a media outlet that’s only known to college football junkies is the bastion of media integrity.

I worked in traditional media for nearly 50 years, as a sports writer, news reporter, news copy editor, assistant news editor, news editor, associate editor, editorial writer and editor. I never made up anything, and nobody I was ever associated with made up anything. I would have immediately fired anyone working for me who made something up and would have done everything in my power to ensure they never worked in the trade again. (Journalism is a trade not a profession, people treating it as a “profession” is a problem IMO.)

The problem is people especially today on both sides of the spectrum are so locked into what they believe, they don’t want to be exposed to anything that deviates from what they believe, and if it deviates from what they believe, then it’s made up or fake.

And again it cuts both ways. During the 2016 presidential election, I got a phone call on Thursday saying that an editorial I wrote showed that I was a fascist follower of Donald Trump and another call on Friday saying that I was a left-wing pinko follower of Hillary Clinton.

I don’t know about you, but I sort of took that as confirmation that I was in the right place.

Sounds like Lane is trying to recruit Nico. “It was all just a big misunderstanding guys, coulda happened to anyone in CFB wanting an extra $2 million or else. No big deal nothing burger, amiright?”
