There was a Bedlam game last night at Devin Park in OKC. And of course OU beat the sheep 11-3 run rule. But the big story is attendance.

This is why the championship is played here, OKC has invested millions to make it the best venue in America. Olympics will be playing here in summer 2028 as well. Locals always show out.

Some of the SEC teams should set up an OOC game here against pre season opponents. Would give them experience playing at the venue plus likely increased revenue from the larger crowds. Locals would show up, say for example LSU vs Nebraska or other similar matchups.

Congrats, meanwhile your baseball team has lost 5 of the last 6 games.

I was at.that game.last night. Crazy atmosphere. We play Mississippi St there next Friday night and I got tickets for that too. Can't wait for the Olympic softball games and team USA to come to town.

What does this even mean? We are a sports school, just like every other SEC team.

Are you saying fans of all SEC teams should not root for all their sports and only select ones that pundits like you approve?

Probably one of the dumbest posts on this board, spewed by several posters who drink too much soy.

How many LSU fans strut their stuff over women's gymnastics after winning title last year. Saw lots of women's basketball posts over past few years too.

It’s a sports posting board not a mens only safe space.

OU is a sports school and I think all other SEC teams are too. I enjoy sports.

What's with the 2 different fences?

The field is "built" for slow-pitch play. Slow-Pitch has 300-foot fences (the back fence) and the warning track is cut for that fence.

For Women's Fastpitch play, they are able to 'build or install' near permanent fences which I think are at 225 feet. But they do not cut a warning track for those fences until the WCWS (Women's College World Series in June.

Interesting. I never noticed that the scoreboard was off in the distance.

I’d like to see you take a few bats. Softball pitchers are closer to the plate than baseball and that thing comes at you fast. Looks easy until you realize how much less time you have to make a decision.

NCAA dictates distances. Softball distances include a right and left field distance of 190 feet to 235 feet and a center field distance of 220 to 235 feet.

Lot's of good posters on the rant. Just try and remember everyone is rooting for their team. We all have good days and not so good days. At the end of the day you have to realize your team is going to win a bunch of games and also lose a bunch of games, and you need to handle yourself accordingly no matter which, and be happy for the other guy even if it is a rival.

But it is still fun to talk some smack occassionally.

While this is all true...

I really wish somebody would build another softball facility to rotate the WCWS so that we wouldn't have to hear all the bitching about it being in OKC every year.

It gets old hearing it when it is painfully obvious that OKC that can handle that can seat 13K.

OU is not. Lost your last football coach to USC and your last decent basketball coach to Indiana, who coached in the national championship this week for Houston.

It will be the record until someone decides to play one in a football stadium. Sorta like what Nebraska did with volleyball.

It will always stay as highest in a softball specific stadium.
