Got me thinking. Do the Wal-Mart heirs chip in? Seems like y'all could buy a damn good football and basketball team if they bought in

Very little overall. They are beginning to do a bit more as of recent. But they are ultra liberal in their fiduciary duties. Most of their funds are for the arts, bike trails, etal...

Tyson is risking his grandchildren's future with the amount of money he is putting in basketball. Unfortunately, they hate football as a sport.

We’d love to have some of the Tyson and Walmart money in Tuscaloosa. I’m jelly.

What Tyson puts into basketball he looses in his couch cushion weekly. The ROI on Cal is probably 10x by now. Chicken man gonna Chicken boys.

The Waltons aren't true Arkansans like the Tysons, Hunts and Stephens.

I don't believe the Tysons hate football. It's just hard trying to carry football, basketball and baseball.

The Tysons are putting more money into basketball and baseball as they see it as a more wise decision.

They prefer professional sports instead of hooking us up.

If I’m a billionaire and want to make a big impact, paying for a coach and 10 or so players for basketball makes a lot more sense than an entire football team.

As for the Waltons, it doesn’t appear that any of the younger ones were raised diehard Arkansas fans.

Way more Walmart $$ goes to Mizzu and Memphis (where the grandchildren went to college).

Shoulda seen the yacht that pulled into the Bahamas when Memphis was playing in the Battle 4 Atlantis. Looked like a friggin' cruise ship.

The issue has always been about money. It is very hard to be good in football, basketball and baseball. Only 26 schools went to a bowl game and the NCAA tournament this past year.

Arkansas is better off sticking with basketball and baseball. They don't have the money to compete with programs like Michigan and Ohio State that can pay 18 year old freshmen $2-4 million dollars a year. If they could then they wouldn't be in the situation they are right now.

The Waltons could care less unless it involves boring art and $8,000 bikes. You can't win football games with that.

Sam was a Mizzou grad so there apparently was no loyalty to UA. Brother Bud did give $15M for the BB arena though he did not attend college at Arkansas.

One heir owns the Broncos but, publicly at least, the Waltons seem to have little interest in UA athletics.
