the final 4 and lost to maybe the eventual Champs in a 68 team crapshoot. Overall.... it was an outstanding year! Hopefully our state will continue to produce #1 seeds in basketball for many years to come...

You would not be posting this if Barn had won the whole thing.

Actually I would. I said 2 months ago that they were the best team.

Heck of a season and one of the most impressive regular seasons in recent memory. Was a great ride.

Sucks to come up short in any year, especially one with a team as strong as this one.

Alabama fans tend to be a bit more secure than Texas fans, for whatever reason. Maybe their sisters are hotter or something and it brings them comfort at night, but they're notably less of little bitches than you lot.

When Wimp was at Alabama and Sonny was at Auburn basketball interest was on the rise. Then a drop off.

Today, both programs are very successful and fans of both programs are very passionate. I know football is first but I never thought basketball would reach this level.

Excellent coaches on both sides have made this happen.

Trash talk aside???? I question your tactics and frankly doubt this thread will stay cordial

Regional Champions, SEC Champions & Maui Invitational Champions. Coach of the Year. Player of the Year. All SEC awards, All American award. Cant complain one bit.

Yes losing to Florida sucked, but it was kinda expected by most Auburn fans if were being honest. They beat us the first time and we limped in to the Final Four the second. Plus stopping Clayton Jr was an impossible task. We had our chances and missed. Tip of your hat to Florida

Bama had a good year as well, but it felt like a let down. Preseason pick to win the SEC. Didnt make the Final Four. Lost to Auburn in the 1v2 matchup at home. However to be fair, yall won Senior Night, made it to an Elite 8 but ran into a Duke team that was a nightmare matchup for bama. Yall also broke the NCAA record for 3s made in a tournament game by a long shot, which will stand the test of time

I was hoping for the win, but I didnt think we would be able to stop Clayton Jr. Especially with Broome limping in and CBM with a torn ligament in his shooting hand.

We were up 8 at the break and I started to believe, but we faltered down the stretch and Clayton went off. Sucks

I still miss Sonny and Wimp on the radio! They were hilarious.

Old habits are hard to break but you don't have to simp for Bama anymore.

Bama and Auburn have two of the best coaches in the country. Pearl probably is a lifer for Auburn and will keep them in the conversation most years. If we can keep him from the NBA, so will Oats for Bama. If/when one of them wins a championship this state will blow up. Should be fun.

Have to credit the way Florida played down the stretch and this run in the tourney

You had three other teams that looked like they could make a run at different points of the season including Auburn Tenn and Bama

I think the injuries caught up to Broome
Tenn was only going to go as far as their offense took them, they struggled to score at times
Bama had too many defensive issues that you knew could bite them in a tourney setting especially when the 3's aren't falling

It was a great year for SEC basketball, and both Bama and Auburn delivered some exceptional performances; Auburn winning the SEC regular season championship, and Bama beating Auburn at home.

Florida was peaking at the end of the year, and deserve to be in the NCAA championship game (hope they win it all).
