Paid endorsement.
In his case, I don’t think so.. He was recruited by Herman before NIL was legalized, so he likely chose Texas for the school instead of it just being about the money..
Then again, that weakens my argument in the OP.. perhaps stories like this will fade in the coming years, but I hope not.

Have we already skipped forward to football now.
Not judging - just pandering my misery.

he is from Austin born and raised and grew up a big Longhorn. Obviously NIL with athletes who are not fans of the University or have no ties are impacting the sport but there are some who still have passion for the school regardless of NIL.
Sam E would ave gone to Texas I think had they offered him NIL or not and I (and most on this board) would have too.

Yeah, man!! Him wanting to wear a Texas shirt during pro day really makes me feel so much better about NIL.....
Are you serious with this?
I bet so many of you have given money to Arabian princes through emails. This is a whole lot of naivete. Look here at this shiny object.

100%
I only applied to one school, so I agree.. tbd if this will continue or not..
The reality.. if I played a sport and another school offered me 2-3x more than what Texas offered, idk what I would gave done.. and that sucks.

Most of you SEC types don't understand Texas (or A&M for that matter). This is just pro football to you sidewalks, and has been for decades.
Any comment of pride or spirit coming from players is definitely a Texas thing. And sidewalks won't be able to relate.

What makes you think that the shorthorns haven't made it easy to take this position? This shorthorn NIL money has literally promised a Lamborghini in every player's garage. Sign me up for that loyalty plan.

That's right, I forgot college players weren't getting paid prior to NIL.

That sure is a lot of word throwup. Do you actually believe that crap you posted?
Nice touch with all the sidewalk stuff. Wonder if that tactic will work with other naive people such as yourself..

You and I are different types of fans. I'm a normal person. Do your thing.

Barron is the exception, not the rule. Do not be deceived; NIL is destroying college football.

Texas killed Isiah Bond's career by offering Lambourghinis and was among the first in the headlines by their OL making 50,000 dollars each but we are supposed to believe Texas players are only there for their pride in their university.
Newsflash there are good kids everywhere, that doesn't make good kids the norm. Ashton Jeanty represented Boise at Heisman events.

I'm sure as a Texas fans... this was a wonderful thing to see...
For me... It kind of made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.
Seriously though, In this particular instance... this guy stayed in school for five years. Most guys as good as he was would have gone early.
