Also I wanted to post this and give the ladies some love. The SEC has the top 6 teams in the D1 Softball poll this week and 13 out of 25. For all you non-math majors, that is over half of the poll. Yes that means that 13 of the 15 SEC teams are ranked.

South Carolina has a golden opportunity to upset the applecart.

You would think teams further North would want to play during the warmest part of the day. Maybe it has something to do with the positioning of the sun and shadows. I noticed yesterday that y'all had shade that started half way from the pitcher to the catcher. That can mess with hitters sometimes I guess. IDK

This is going to be a fun opening weekend. I want to bet some of these games. How are folks feeling about their Friday staff?

Feel great about our Friday and Saturday starters.
Feel nauseous about our Sunday starter and everyone in the bullpen before the closer.

This doesn't make sense to me. I'm assuming one of these is your batter being hit and the other one is your pitcher hitting the other team..
Wouldn't the pitcher hitting the other team be in order from least to most, similar to walks allowed?

So what is the SEC policy on rainouts?
I assume if they aren't played in a given weekend, that team will just have fewer conference games at the end of the season? There isn't really any free time to play make up games.

Hit by pitch is how many times your team has been plunked. Hit batters is how many times your team has plunked someone.
I thought it was funny that the 2 Texas teams were hitting the most batters and getting hit the least. Also Georgia is at a plus 40 between the two stats and that adds up to some runs.

We led by a ton in HBP last year as well. I’m convinced Wes made it a point of emphasis.
It was a very noticeable change from 2023 to 2024. It was very rare that one of our guys flinched when a ball was coming at him.
Corey Collins broke the school record last year with 28. He’d crowd the plate and then lean into anything close, playing it off as the beginning of his swing motion. Of course he wore a massive elbow guard lol

Shouldn't this stat be listed from least to most?

Bad losses:
1 - LSU
1 - Alabama
1 - Kentucky
2 - Texas A&M
2 - Auburn
6 - Missouri
Key point: Don't lose to Missouri or your ELO & RPI will suffer.
