This just in from TexAgs...
"This team looks like a bunch of dead fish out there..."
and...
"We could **** up a teenage wet dream..."
plus...
"we extended jimbo to keep him from lsu and it cost us gravely, but it gets better...
now we let a bunch of 19-22 yr olds pick a hire for us so as not to lose them to tu..."
Hiring Early was a huge mistake

Easiest way I’ve got to check aggy pulse long distance…
I’ll let y’all decide whether or not quoting TexAgs upgrades or downgrades the SEC Rant content here…
Like I’ve said before, don’t shoot the messenger!

Why don’t you just ask here? You’ll have plenty of us that will admit the baseball team is sucking arse currently.

Reading that TexAgs thread reminds me that the average sports fan is retarded.
Hiring Earley was probably the right move at the time, despite how it turns out.
Worst case, you kept the team intact for a shot this year and can jettison Earley for fairly cheap, should he prove to be in over his head.
If you hire someone like Skip Johnson, then you probably lose most of the roster to in conference competition (maybe even Texas) and you're probably pretty bad anyway.

I agree. There was no choice at the time. If it was prior to the transfer portal era, you could have done a true search. Once Tenn matched the offer to Vitello, it was over.

Disagree. If the players are holding the program hostage in order to hire their buddy, you let them walk.
Hiring a head coach with zero experience is the wrong move, period. It is a gamble with horrible odds.
A&M let Texas beat them twice. Once by losing Schloss and another time by reactively hiring Earley, which will set the program back until he is fired.

It will become a popular option in the NIL era, blue bloods like Notre Dame and Michigan did it in football.
Why not take a short term risk on an up and coming assistant? Maybe you get to avoid a rebuild altogether.
Worst case, you push it off for a year or two. Not a lot of risk.

Y’all normally get all defensive when you are debating here with opponents…
I feel like I’m getting pure aggy honesty on TexAgs…

That’s why you pay for that access? For the honesty?

Not sure I am understanding your question, but I sure don't pay anything for TexAgs...
I just drop in every once in a while and scroll for free, when I need a chuckle...

A&M sucks at baseball. Last year was flash in the pan success, now go back to your gay little ice cream park.

I think you are getting a little confused. It's the "childs" that are now running the aggy baseball program...
