“My biggest regret was leaving LSU”
LINK
I personally believe his short tenure in the NFL helped him become the amazing coach he became.

"So then, I can't go back to LSU. Go to Alabama, and no disrespect to Alabama, it's not Alabama versus LSU," Saban said. "Jimmy Sexton stood on the balcony when I was getting ready to leave LSU... and he said, 'What do your legacy to be as a coach? Do you want to be Vince Lombardi or do you want to be Bear Bryant?' And without hesitation, I said Bear Bryant. And he said, 'What are you doing going to Miami then?'"
Time machine, first stop

He would have 15 nattys if he stayed. LSU is a bigger brand. This is common sense . now go melt Bammers

i know its hard for LSU fans to read the entire story but he never said anything about wanting to be at LSU he said he wanted to be in college lol.

Bama holds the won-loss edge against “L”su in FB, BKb, and BB!

Wow, as much as he loved LSU, he wanted to chase the Bear. That’s amazing.

Well, at least LSU won some natties while Saban was the coach at Bama. Sure, it was maybe 1/3 of what they could have had but at least it wasn't a drought.

Reading is hard, especially when he opened by saying:
“My biggest regret is LEAVING LSU”

You left out the part that says, to go coach Miami Dolphins

LSU is like the guy that just never gets over their ex, still talks about her all the time despite her having moved on years ago with someone new, better looking and more successful than they could ever hope to be. Corn dogs just have to believe Saban still loves them. It's very sad.

I realize Bama fans aren't very bright so I will help you. Saban is the one who brought up LSU, not the other way around...

And this prompted LSU fans to make multiple threads pretending their ex still loves them. I get it.

Saban has been saying this on repeat since 2019 and Gumps absolutely fricking hate it
Saban desperately wanted to come back to Daddy LSU but LSU was about to go to another National Championship so he couldn’t.
Clearly, he’s so glad to be out of the shithole that is Tuscaloosa.

I have no doubt he loved LSU and would have gone back to Baton Rouge in a heart beat if he could. I'm certain he realized his mistake fairly shortly after arriving in Miami. However, I doubt he becomes the elite coach he does without trying his hand at the NFL first.

Why does this make you mad?

Absolutely
He would have been great, but he would always have the NFL in the back of his mind
He was freakishly focused at bama
