And? He said resources. Notre dame won a title since 1988. LSU has won 3. Maybe he and the administration didn’t see eye to eye. If any other team with Notre dames schedule lost to a mac team, they wouldn’t be playing.

If they win it, I don’t know if any team has lost to someone the caliber of NI, MAC and 8-5, and won the Title.

Well clearly ND has the resources to compete and Kelly was the issue. That quote was him coping with his own failures and inability to win any meaningful games at ND

Do they?

He made it to a national championship in his third year too.

The quote said “win”, not “appear in”. We’ll see if they can win one next week.

Did BK play in a CFP game?

If Freeman doesn't win the natty... then it's all the same nonsense.

They beat the SEC champ. So if they lost it would have been “typical ND, can’t win the big bowl games.” But now they win and it was “Georgia had their backup QB playing.” Despite the fact that a lot of Georgia fans claimed Beck’s injury wouldn’t hurt the team. Which was clearly bullshite

So are you equating the SEC champ this year with say, 2020 Bama?

He did not say PLAY for a NC. He said WIN a NC.

Comparing pre NIL and Portal to post NIL and Portal is futile and apples and oranges. Hell, NIL has more to do with fans and support than coaching. Coaches have to do the talent evaluation but the money has to be there to matter.

BK made the national championship before the CFP. He didn’t actually win any meaningful games to get there, just a typical soft ND schedule. Freeman has actually beaten some decent teams and earned ND the right to play for a title

Incorrect.

2012 Notre Dame beat:

#10 Michigan State
#18 Michigan
#17 Stanford
#8 Oklahoma

They also had no regular season losses and certainly none to MAC teams.

The regular season was the playoff back then, Notre Dame doesn't make even a four team playoff this year.

Missouri fans/Alabama alters waking up and crying every day over Brian Kelly is underrated
