NIL and transfer portal gave Freeman the muscle he needed. BK would have done the same

Unfortunately for BK…he left ND at a time where no one could imagine what NIL and the transfer portal was going to evolve into in short order. Shane Gillis on Espn was joking abt this w Saban but it’s true…now that ND (and its rich alumni base) can pay players just like Bama used to, they can compete too.

Had BK stayed at ND he would have done the same. Those Irish hoodlums need to thank BK for all those years of winning seasons AND natty appearance despite being handcuffed from an academic and recruiting standpoint. He was right…when he left he DIDN’T have the resources or the same level of recruits. Now they do.

Also…please go back and compare the state of the 2 programs when coaches switched. BK handed Freeman a program in a much stronger state than he inherited at LSU

Why didn't BK do the same at LSU which had better talent and are basically a one team state so have an edge with recruiting?

Yeah, man. BK is the best coach in history. No QUESTION!!! There's nothing he can't do. He's just amazing. You can bear his children.

“Brian Kelly is a professional.”

“Brian Kelly knows what it takes to win at the highest level.”

“Kelly won at Notre Dame, with high academic standards. He’ll get much higher quality players at LSU.”

This board has ADD

It makes the same thread over and over with the same point about the same topic for hours, sometimes days/weeks

Then same pattern for something else

ND’s last four recruiting classes
2022 - 7
2023 - 12
2024 - 9
2025 - 12

Their talent is no better. They just play an easier schedule and their QB stayed healthy.

Inherited 11-1 team and a Ferrari - Kelly got a 6-7 Yugo with a flat. Apples to oranges.

ND uses the transfer portal less than almost any major program outside of Clemson. All you know about is the QB.

The single most out of touch statement that has ever been posted on the internet. Yes, that is saying a lot.

Did you know Texas A&M and USCw played against LSU and Notre Dame? BK and LSU lost both of those games. Freeman and Notre Dame won both of those games and made the playoffs. If BK and LSU had won those two games I believe LSU would be in the playoffs too! Don't go around finding an excuse for losing to those two teams and for not being able to recruit at LSU. BK went to LSU because it is a lot easier to recruit there and get top talents to go to LSU. He said he couldn't get to do that at Notre Dame. BK had 3 full years to get it done at LSU.
By the way LSU fans were saying BK set LSU back one to two years for bad hiring of DC and some assistants. Whose fault was that? BK!
