Gonna be staying in the Memphis area starting Thursday for maybe 3-4 days. Can anyone here recommend a good place to stay? It doesn't have to be downtown. Just looking for a good safe place near places to eat.

Would stay in Germantown. Eat at Germantown Commissary.

Yeah, it's the only part of town that is solidly safe. I lived downtown there for years

Yep, there was no way we were going to stay downtown. We're just going up to see the snowstorm (lol).

I live in the hills South of Nashville, not looking forward to the storm. As much as 7" s for us.

I stayed at the downtown Marriott across from the arena. Nice hotel with lots of food options within walking distance

I stay at the Marriott East. Don’t leave any valuables in your car. If you have a pick up truck with any reference to hunting your windows will be broken out in the parking lot of any hotel first night. If not, still a good chance they will break your windows. Do not bring your gun unless you are going to keep it on you at all times. It will be stolen.

Best spots to eat are Southern Social in Germantown and Folks Folly in East Mem.

If you're just going to see a snow storm, why not choose a better location?

Go to Chattanooga if you want to see snow this weekend. Assuming you live in Gulfport. Easier drive and much prettier.

Have fun. My dad is from Tunica which is nearby. To me it has a similar vibe that Savannah has. Lot of good BBQ there.

Go to Gatlinburg. Decent skiing if you're a beginner.
