Terrible.

quote:

Kareem Badawi was a 2024 graduate of the Episcopal School of Baton Rouge and had this fall started at UA, where he pledged to join the Sigma Chi fraternity.

Belal Badawi in May 2024 had posted about his excitement over his son’s high school graduation and upcoming move to Tuscaloosa.

The FBI lady said it wasn’t a terrorist attack. Will the UA president get in trouble for calling it that?

So much that I could say about that person. But I don’t want to turn this into a political discussion. It’s not appropriate at this time. Terrible news about the UA student and everyone else who was affected by this tragedy.

There's never an inappropriate time to discuss the incompatibility between religious extremism, whether it be Islamic, Zionist, Hindu, Talibangelical, etc., and a free democracy that respects and protects the rights of all of its citizens.

I think that was just a procedural thing at first. I’m pretty sure it’s being called a terrorist attack now

That’s correct. Just standard operating procedure until they know the immediate facts. I used to work in Federal Law Enforcement. It’s hard to walk back statements once it goes live.

He would have know Tiger Bech and Jack Bech. They both went to STM. Tiger played football for Princeton and Jack played WR for LSU and TCU.
