People tend to turn off blowouts.

Well then you shouldn't change the dynamic and throw them on TNT / TBS..
One of the reasons the ABC trifecta works so well is simple.. they advertise the next game all day long. One after another over the air.. anyone can watch with an antenna..
But this is also why you don't want to compete against the NFL.
Are those ratings or millions of viewers? That does make a difference.
ETA: Updated on page 5, but i’ll post it here also..

I don't see TNT or TBS listed on any of the top games for this year.. weird.

They got what they wanted with no Bama. I'm absolutely shocked no one tuned in to watch the little sisters of the Big10 and ACC get arse blasted.

I think that's kind of the point of the original source. Many of the regular season SEC matchups were viewed more than the playoffs so far.

But guys, they deserved to be in!

The only game I watched was Ohio State Tennessee and no Tennessee did not deserve to be in. Holy shite that team was bad

Without a lot of help from the zebras they wouldn't have been in.

Besides Tennessee / Ohio State none of the match-ups sounded remotely "sexy"
And every single game was over almost immediately after it started. It was clear who was almost certainly going to win by the end of the 1st quarter.

The Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl will make up for it. Georgia has the 2 most-watched semifinal games since 2015, and Notre Dame is Notre Dame.

The more I watch, the more I'm convinced that 12 teams is way too many.
We've been talking about this for years on here (some of us, anyway), but the same teams with superior talent and depth are still going to win it.
Everything else is, "Hey, we made it!" media-propped window dressing before that familiar, harsh reality sets in.

Just a reminder ESPN paid 1.3 billion a year for these 11 games. Over 100 million per game. And so far not a single game has made the top 20 in viewership. They pay 300 mil a year for the SEC game of the week and SEC title game (the old CBS contract).
The 12 team playoff has been a disaster for virtually everyone involved so far.

The worst 2 rated games were directly competing against very good NFL games.

When college football is over - Disney is royally fricked.

That’s why anytime Oklahoma plays Bama it’s low ratings. They now Oklahoma is going to run them out of the stadium.

T-shirt Bama fans think the world revolves around Alabama.

Also, you left out the SEC team (a winner over Alabama btw) which got arse blasted in prime time.
