By Alabama fans. Certain ones anyway. Bryce young wasn’t treated like milroe with way better receivers and RBs and no natty. Milroe steered the ship in Sabans last year with a horrible offensive team. We saw that in the usf game when he was benched. Won the sec title and had a 20-13 win locked up to head to the national title game in the final 2 minutes but the defense couldn’t stop a Michigan offense that wasn’t explosive at all based on our normal opponents. Played great against Georgia this year, loss to vandy wasn’t on him at all. 100% atrocious defense. Tennessee game he played poorly and with no help on the team anywhere we weren’t beating vols up there unless he was great. Was lucky Nico played terrible. Played bad against usc e but we pulled it out. Went balls deep in Death Valley and had his worst game ever against Oklahoma. Dropped passes, bad playcalling, and him being off was a bad mix. So in 2 years he had 2 bad games. OU and Texas (although a case can be made defense lost Texas also) went undefeated against lsu and auburn. And was the guinea pig for the first year of the coach that followed saban. Yet a large portion of bama fans disrespectfully “cant wait for him to go”. He could have portal’d and we would have lost 6 games but didn’t. Loyal bama man and will have fond memories of his time at bama. Rolllll Tide!!!!!!!!

Only QBs better than him are cam ward and sheduer. Maybe Gabriel but Milroe would wreck shop on Oregon. OSU would be better. Hell every playoff team would be better with him as Qb except maybe vols and Oregon. (Although I think Oregon is debatable). Penn state offense sucks so don’t know. Allar is alright but Milroe would make them better. But we still think it’s 2012 and don’t even appreciate the sec title and “can’t watch another game with him In there” it’s best for both parties to move on but the fans that are obnoxious about how bad Milroe is just don’t know what the hell they are talking about. We probably couldn’t even have beaten lsu without his running

I agree with everything you said. His problem was consistency. It’s unpopular to give Milroe credit for anything on this board, but he had many great moments. When he was good, he was nearly unstoppable, but a few games this season and last season, he was terrible. Many fans here have chosen to remember the bad Milroe performances, and I agree it’s not necessarily fair, but such is life. I also don’t feel sorry for him either. He’s made some pretty good money and he’ll probably make even more with the best job in the NFL. Backup quarterback

Gabriel is far more clutch that Milroe

Milroe's main problem is he struggles against defenses with a pulse (see Ewers)

Milroe's main problem
is he has never had any help. Only spots here or there. Ryan Williams against Georgia only. Dropping easy touchdown against auburn and not doing much else all year. Having absolutely terrible running backs compared to what Alabama traditionally has had and sporadic offensive line play. Basically he has been the entire team for two years that won a sec title. Beat Georgia twice and should have played for a national championship. For any other school that’s a great 2 years. Even best Jayden Daniels heads up.

Gabriel
has much more help via the whole team and a lot easier opponents than Milroe. And a “in his prime” great coach

was a worse passer than Milroe during his time at Alabama. Only that sub in against Georgia in 2018 did he show signs of being able to pass. His team was loaded and when I say loaded. I mean fricking loaded

I’ll agree with the consistency but no qb can be spectacular every game (except maybe Daniels or burrow for lsu) and if Milroe wasn’t spectacular Alabama couldn’t win against a decent team. Bryce young was kinda the “whole team” also which is just not what makes Alabama great. Tua and hurts had incredible WR, RBs, defenses. Young and Milroe had neither. If they didn’t play great Alabama didn’t win. So for him to be consistent he needed to go for 300+ passing and 100+ rushing like against Georgia to win by 7 and that’s hard to realistically expect. Maybe a running back could have had a 150 yard game to help. Never did that happen

Wrong.... because vandy and OU fans appreciated the heck out of him this year.

Wrong only OU. Milroe couldn’t get on the field against Vandy. They scored 41 fricking points. 41. Against bama. OU can appreciate him

Bama fans quickly forgot how pedestrian guys like McElroy, Sims, Coker, and even McCarron could be at times. They were spoiled with Tua, Mac, and Young, and even now you can see that those guys teamed up with some epic receivers.

Hurts didn't do things to hurt his team. Milroe often makes bad decisions that hurt his team.

No, Jalen Hurtz was, because he was benched but ended up being better than his replacement. Just needed a year of real development to demonstrate it.

Ok you’re way off here. This just isn’t true. If Milroe doesn’t give the ball to Oklahoma 3-4 times, we still have a legitimate shot at winning that game as bad as the play calling was. He didn’t have to play great, just not be terrible.

It could be argued that a segment of Bama fans insist on over valuing him despite his poor performance.

I mean he's a good kid no doubt. That 4th and 31 and the SEC Championship win against Georgia solidify him as a Bama man.

What else will he be remembered for? That's it at very best.

If we would have had a very good Saban defense the last couple of years then we win or at least play for NCs.

How many QBs before him going back to 2007 actually cost us games -- as in threw picks or fumbled the game away? Not hardly instances of that. He may have cost Bama 3 losses this year that were mostly on his back.

The standard is high at Bama. Why should it be lowered for a player only because he's a good kid and a mediocre QB who loses you critical games?
