Nobody cares about what made CFB great. Zero concern for tradition, no cares whatsoever about fit and trying to get baws laid on visits at the best parties. Just hired mercenaries whoring themselves out to the highest bidder. I hope Phil knight/his legacy family and his gay arse ducks and bottomless pockets dominate CFB for the next 100 years.

It's sterile, mass produced, a tv show to sell advertisements. It's been optimized to produce maximum revenue, not maximum enjoyment for the fans.
Absolutely awful.
There's nothing about it at all any more that made it special. Just illogical emotional attachment to names and logos.

I enjoyed college football in the sec this year. It was cool to see some upsets. Hopefully we’ll see it transition to more equal teams playing each week rather than the going through the motions of waiting for the same 3 or 4 teams playing for it all like it’s been for too long nation wide.
I’ve been watching that crap for 60 years so a change is welcome for me.
The teams with money have owned it for too many years, I have no problem with others stepping up now that it’s legal. Sue me…..

I understand capitalism, but there are also things not for sale. Like loyalties, ethics, morals, values, religious views, etc....The way society is, everyone is so focused on selfish motives, they're willing to sell their soul to the highest bidder and justify it in the name of "Gotta get yours". Thats what the world is teaching kids.
Sports was originally about team, discipline, self-sacrifice, and work ethic. Can we honestly say that is the lessons kids learn today? Now they opt out and quit on their team mates and make more money than their coach.

I'm not debating hypotheticals and endless parameters of 'what ifs'. I'm just stating what I'm stating. And that is kids aren't learning what they used to learn in athletics. Its obvious by the culture we have.

The problem you have is that it's more popular than it has ever been and making more money than it ever has. Sorry.
In almost every case, fans that are complaining about it the most have teams that are on the downward trend and fans that aren't as negative about it are teams that on the upward trend or continuing dominance.

I honestly thought this was the most entertaining season in really long time. Lot of big time matchups with helmet schools that rarely play each other, big upsets causing chaos etc.
And while I still think the perfect number is 8, the expanded playoffs means we get a mini-season of big games deep into winter, and there's still all the lesser bowls where backups and Freshmen finally get their chance. What's not to like?

All it’s done is legitimize cheating. Used to be, only a handful of teams would be allowed to cheat (didn’t like this either, but the corrupt ncaa didn’t do its job). Now, only a handful of teams can afford to cheat enough to actually win. Schools and fans will pick up the loss trying to stay relevant. The ground is still shifting.

It's the first time since 2007 there is no extremely dominant team.

Yep, I have no problem with it. Those who don’t like it are those that have been at the top for whatever reasons.
Shake it up and let’s see what happens, that’s entertainment rather than the same old crap we’ve seen every year since I can remember.
Make football competitive for the first time ever.

Ain’t been the same since the band stopped playing Dixie.

The Truth agrees. The Truth has never cared for yankee football but The Truth shrewdly points out that the Michigan upset over Ohio State is just one example of the lessening importance of rivals games in these current conditions. The Truth remembers a time when this upset would've eliminated their championship hopes.

The game that many of us grew to love has forever changed … To what …. I think we do not yet know.
It will take several seasons for the current “system” to shake out, adjust, and settle in. All I know is that the more I see of “this” … the less and less I love the game.
