Can we get a thread for known opt outs?

It’s hard to bet games when you don’t know who is going to play.

Bowls are stupid. They're already not exciting even with full teams, add in the opt outs and all other factors and it's a waste of time to even get involved in. The people that go to these things must just love blowing money.

I've never understood people lamenting about extra football. If your stars opt out? K, well, there's underclassmen that would be fun to see. If you don't like it, fine. Don't watch.

Ive always loved the bowls. But they are differnt now than they were in the 90s. Teams and players took pride in their bowls. Only 2 teams can play in the national title. Your season doesnt have to be a failure just because you didnt make that. They were excited for the bowls and end on a good note with excitement and momentum for the next season. But none of that is the same anymore thanks to playoffs, transfers, nil.

It’s extra practices and more football. Who cares if players leaving don’t play? Nobody is forcing you to attend or watch.

The Hogs OL, WR's, TE's and DB's are pretty much all gone.

I like football. I watch high school football, don't have a clue most seasons of a single players name. Id' watch pop warner football if it weren't creepy LOL. I fully understand opting out but as a fan I don't care who it is, I am going to watch it.

I also know this as what I think is a fact.....a whole lot of success at UGA the last couple of years stems from UGA players pooching their lips out and quitting in 2018 and losing to Texas in the Sugar Bowl. The players left saw what it did to the team culture. It has not happened again at UGA on any kind of scale like FSU pulled last year. The players who will be back next year can make a big difference next year if the leaders on the team this year convince them every game means something. No team is talented enough to simply win with talent....by mid season if you ain't ate up with the desire to play football, at any level, you won't. You may go through the motions but when the heart is missing yov'e lost.

It transcends football or came from our national culture where you are either automatically the best or you either quit or blame someone else. There is only one "best" at everything....life is about getting better, not being at the top but getting better. I never played golf but you have to admire golfers who know full well they are never going to be perfect but still try and enjoy it enough to do it into their old age.
