Lot better response than what FSU came out with last year.

Code for bring on more Sisters of the poor. No point in losing a OOC game which will only hurt you.

That’s a great response. I really like Byrne and that’s why I think DeBoer is the right man for the job. I trust Byrne.

Obviously Alabama’s losses were conference games, so this wouldn’t have “helped” Alabama this year, but the point is that there’s really no reason to make your schedule more difficult than it has to be by adding big OOC games. The SEC is difficult enough, why beat your team up more by playing higher end OOC opponents?

I mean everyone harps on assessing the schedule. All three losses were conference games. Next year is FSU and Wisconsin. Both are terrible. I think the SEC still mandates you play one P4 non conference game, I guess just get Wake Forest or somebody every year, but you still have to run the conference gauntlet

And there you have it. The CFP hasn't elevated the game it has diminished it. This committee did more to hurt college football than the BCS ever could.

Only problem is we didn’t lose to an OOc team. We lost to the two teams on our schedule everyone had penciled in a win. That’s part of the problem now. These guys haven’t earned shite and they think they can just roll their helmets in the field and teams quit. Those first 12 yrs of Saban teams made those guys quit. Bama hasn’t been that team the last 4 years.

More concerned with his actions, not what he says.

With the conference being as big as it is, a in conference schedule can certainly avoid good teams, too

ADs can lobby for this.

Yeah Wisconsin and FSU are bad this year. They’ll all add through the portal.I believe they’re referring to how easy other teams schedules are.

Once again, that’s not Byrne’s point. He knows our losses were in conference. The point is that strength of schedule doesn’t appear to be that important in the 12 team playoff era, so why make your schedule even more difficult by scheduling any big out-of-conference games? The SEC is tough enough, there’s no reason to beat your team up playing someone like Ohio State or Notre Dame if strength of schedule isn’t that important. Schedule teams you can beat easily, because the quantity of wins seems to matter more than quality of wins or quality of opponents.

Friendly reminder too that Byrne has yet to be put on the CFP committee while Oklahoma, Clemson, Ohio St, and Michigan have all had their ADs on it and Arkansas now has their second AD on it from 2024-26.

Byrne should be asking Sankey why we played 4 SEC teams coming off of byes and some teams played 0. Nobody else played 4 teams coming off of byes.

We went through this when Moore was AD and it was supposedly corrected.
