I don’t understand how people don’t get that this is a huge blow to our conference.

The strength of our conference just became irrelevant.
Yes, Bama lost to two 6-6 teams who just happen to be #4 and #8 respectively in SOS. If you gave those two teams the same schedule that Texas had this year, it is different.
Who you play has to mean something. It’s why bball uses NET. UAB basketball, even with a record of 25–5, is not getting in the big dance unless they win their tournament.
They have sat an awful precedent. Some people are just too fricking dense to understand it.

Sankey is not doing a good job.

Can we get a new SEC Commissioner?

We going six game conference schedules, no championship game, all group of 5 out of conference. We laying waste to these playoffs

Sankey agreeing to this system is grounds for his termination.

They're stupid.
They literally crow about how tough the SEC is then they want teams in the tough SEC punished because it's tough.
People are really really stupid

People don't give a shite. This is their revenge for losing to Alabama ever since they can remember. But you're right, next year there will be a fanbase making the same argument we did.

The best part is the LSU fans and UGA fans that don't know they will get screwed next by this.
There is a formula to it which Penn State and Michigan have been doing for 4 years now.
They play nobodies on OOC to limit injuries and wear and tear then their conference limits their interactions to prop them up.
Indiana just benefited from it.
It is high time we abandon these tough games Saban wanted. Even Saban just said there is absolutely no incentive to do so, the ADs should cancel them

You shouldn’t be able to go to a playoff without beating a single ranked team but we also shouldn’t have laid an absolute egg against a shitty Oklahoma team three weeks ago.
Beat OU, beat Auburn.
Super easy path to potentially hosting.
Couldn’t do it.

Everybody’s happy right now since Alabama was left out.

Bama fatigue/jealousy/hate clouds judgement.

If we lost to Texas in SECCG the same people defending SMU would be demanding a 3-loss team that isn't a conference winner shouldn't make it

The best coach in the nation called him out last night, standing on the same stage.
How could that not be more damning?

Sounds like the SEC needs to dilute. Like a hypothetical Bama leaves SEC for ACC or B12 type movement.
At this point it's about team/university dollars. Not the conference.
Less the SEC teams that make CFB, then changes will be made.
Remember the conference ain't going to pay for our NIL costs.
