Just one fans opinion.....

Like most Bama fans - I wish we had an opportunity to participate in the playoffs - and I do believe the "good" version of us is better than about half of the teams that got in the field of twelve. However we lost to poor teams and in life results matter - it doesn't matter whatever one else did if we win the ones we should have.
But a part of me thinks this team and the future of the program needs to learn how this conference and the Alabama culture works....and frankly right now I don't believe they do. I believe DeBoer has the potential to adapt and become what Alabama needs - maybe this disappointment drives him to some needed changes. He inherited a very complex situation and has tried to navigate it the best he can - but the buck stops with him and he must take the reins of the team and make demands not let players drive the ship. in short - tail cant wag the dog!
I think the Oklahoma game was impacted by the outbrust Milroe had during the LSU week prep. Many who witnessed that thought he should be benched or disciplined - he cursed Sheridan challenged Deboer - we did nothing. Culture is impacted by leadership and DeBoer caved in to a player. He did that much of the year - while Jalen's parents ran around with shirts that said Mil-Ticket on the front, fought in the stands and the whole LANK mentality thrived dozens of players watched. I believe it impacted work ethic, attention to detail and lead to overall complacency.
Again one fans opinion and to be clear - Milroe really isn't event to blame. The adults in the room are - for letting a child play with a chainsaw and complaining about an injury.
So my hope is they learn. DeBoer's situation becomes more straightforward and before we are all so hard on him _ Saban fostered this culture before this staff arrived.

Wow I didn’t realize that Milroe had allegedly done all of that. If true, it makes him look even worse than I thought. What a shitshow. I’m disgusted by him and the culture that he fostered the last two years. And yes, the coaches should have cleaned house and kicked some people off with a situation as ugly as this one appears to be.

The entire LANK crew needs to be told hit the portal. I’d rather miss the playoffs by 20 spots than by one if it is with players who are entitled.

My hope is that this is the easiest path to parting ways and having Deboer move on with HIS team. As you said, when we are right we are as good as almost anyone. But the Oklahoma loss was awful and doomed us.
I will anxiously await to see if we get some news of a change in the next month or 2.

I would like to know the back story of the Oklahoma loss. That was the worst loss that Alabama has had in two decades. Worse than ULM that one year. There was obviously something going on behind the scenes for that debacle to happen.

During practice on Wednesday of that week Milroe was sacked in scrimmage - Sherdian jumped on him for the sack and he began to scream and curse Sheridan in front of most of the team. DeBoer weighed and Milroe began hollering at him - things like - you cant talk to me that way - dont you know who I am? Just total disrespect for the coaches and authority.
We played him on Saturday and because of LSU's inability to stop a running qb we win. Winning cures alot - but the problem was never corrected and then attitudes follow.....and the saddest part is I believe this coaching staff is afraid to confront the LANK crew. They must run the program. They know Milroe is not the qb they need - worried the benching impacts so many other areas they just held their nose and went forward. as i sdaid - ahard place for DeBoer. Thank the GOAT for this mess.

First I heard of that.
Usually I would balk but after the Vandy game, I cant

Challenged Deboer? Sounds like internet rumors unless you were there.

Sounds crazy. If true, that would definitely lead me to believe that this coaching staff isn’t right for our program. If I were an assistant coach, I would be aggressively pursuing a job elsewhere.
Just hard to believe

I guess many people that post say this - I know it happened.....I don't post much but this one is a fact and much more. Pls let him and the other people who don't appreciate what Alabama football is find somewhere else to play.

Please quit spreading internet gossip. People believe you.

So... uga and fsu played in the crybaby bowl (teams that got left out) last year. So does that mean BAMA has to play Miami this year in the same bowl??

I have heard rumblings all year about player attitudes mentioned by other people, including on this board. But I have heard the same kind of things other years, also. What I believe to be fact is that we had a first year coach that had to make adjustments to playing in a much tougher conference. He was blindsided by his OC taking an NFL job, and put someone he had worked with (position coach), Sheridan in, for OC. Sheridan had some struggles, some due to his own calls, a lot due to limitations of his QB. Do I believe internally something wasn’t right with this team? I don’t know, but I hope those type of stories are not true.
