There will not be a single complaint from anyone.

It’s shuts up the 3 way SEC (3 loss) debate.

It encourages all the conference championships to continue which adds interest and more revenue.

It’s the smart decision.

If they keep SMU out then teams will stop playing the conference game if they are already in the top 12

They didn’t punish TCU in 2022 when they lost the Big 12 Championship in a close game. They’re not going to punish SMU either.

All these people talking about TV ratings forget that alabama would’ve played Michigan that year.

If you keep SMU out you harm the conference championship games as a whole.

Teams will refuse to play them.

it also discourages scheduling difficult OOC games if you're b10/sec and almost certainly cements the SEC not going to a 9 conference game schedule

but yes, i agree, SMU is in

Disney/ESPN ain't happy though

Exactly.

You leave SMU out you cause permanent harm to conference championships.

This is a really bad take. They punished UGA who had every single 1st place AP poll vote and by far the most dominant team in CF off 2 straight nati's and lost to the class of college football, Bama, by a small 3 points. And didn't just knock them from #1 to #5, but put them at #6.

That's the most extreme way to prove that yes, they will knock anyone at all for a loss out of playoffs if you are willing to do it in that scenario.

Not only should SMU be in the committee should seed them and Texas so that they have to play each other in round 1. Imagine the Texas melt if SMU takes them down.

Maybe , but then you have teams that wouldn't be in without these championship games , Clemson and Arizona St.

Everyone has been screwed EXCEPT Bama. There have at least been 3 times that Bama got in based on potential and not results. USC is hotter than Bama right now.

You sound convinced. Bet all the money you have on Bama with the odds in Vegas.

Profit.

Keep them in and SEC teams will stop scheduling tough non conference games and stay at 8 conference games. Plus they will take away automatic qualifiers to stop bid theft from conferences that don’t deserve 2 teams.

It will most likely lead teams to create the easiest schedule possible and keep the SEC from moving to 9 conference games.

Their coach just said it.

They could have not played tonight and been in.

If you leave SMU out you harm the conference championship games.
