Current rankings:

1. Oregon 12-0
2. Texas 11-1
3. Penn State 11-1
4. Notre Dame 11-1
5. Georgia 10-2
6. Ohio St. 10-2
7. Tennessee 10-2
8. SMU 11-1
9. Indiana 11-1
10. Boise St. 11-1
11. Alabama 9-3
12. Miami 10-2

Likely final rankings:

1. Oregon (B1G)
2. Texas (SEC)
3. SMU (ACC)
4. Boise (MWC)
5. Notre Dame
6. Ohio State or Tennessee

Penn State and Georgia drop.

They’ll avoid SEC/SEC and B10/B10 matchups in the first round. I wouldn’t mind PSU, OSU, or ND R1. None of them are that special.

Not as good as South Bend.

No way we get ND. By ranking ND 4, they have already told us ND will be the 5 seed. We're probably going to Columbus...they likely won't drop below Tennessee since neither plays this weekend.

I’m curious to see where we end up and who we play.

There is zero chance we go to South Bend. ND is 4 right now. By rule, they can't be higher than 5...but who would you put ahead of them to drop them to 6? Neither ND, OSU, nor TN play this weekend.

Ohio State is orders of magnitude more talented than IU, PSU or ND.

None of the last three have any major wins or are particularly elite talent wise.

ND does look good enough on the DL to cause our QB power offense problems.

Ohio State has the Great Equalizer though.

Whatever you can tolerate more, really. I don't think it matters for matchups so long as Oregon wins

I say UGA for our strength of wins. Just in case it comes to every metric.

ND will be 5 and we will be 11. We wouldn't play ND until the national championship game.

Won't matter. The loser will drop below Ohio State and Tennessee. We won't play them.

So let’s think about this. PSU and ND have to move. ND has no game so maybe PSU stays above ND after they lose to Oregon?

If TX loses a close one to UGA, I have a hard time believing they won’t be 5

But the committee will arrange the matchups for highest viewership possibilities regardles

No way. After the loss, they will drop below OSU and Tennessee, just like Georgia will. And remember, Penn State lost to Ohio State.

Let’s be honest. No one is that special this year. Doesn’t mean @OSU can’t be a hard game

I guess that's possible. It;s the only scenario that would put us in South Bend.

They’ll do whatever they can to get us @ND or @PSU I think with @OSU being a distant third option

I think so. I believe that’s right.
