The morning of last years selection show FSU was -1200 and bama was +800
The odds mean nothing. All that matters is the men in the room

Too many people are sleeping on Clemson and maybe they are right but I just don’t believe in SMU

They’ve earned it because of their 2020 season.

Can't help but think of Cecil Hurt's quote whenever I see/hear Heather Dinich; "You could walk into any sports bar in America and find someone more qualified than Heather Dinich."

And your win did nothing to prevent GA from the SECG nor Playoffs

Doesn't deserve a playoff birth.

I think the issue is that every team's SOS that's not SEC is simply terrible.
Sagarin SOS:
SMU 63rd
Miami 61st
Clemson 60th
Clemson is so far down the playoff rankings that beating SMU is their only shot.
The real question then is: Should SMU get in?
I'm a pretty big believer in the "conference championship games shouldn't cost you a shot at the playoffs" but in SMU's case I could see WHY someone might disagree.
They have a horrid SOS with their biggest win being over 8-4 Louisville. Their biggest plus is the "no bad losses" - their only loss is by 3 to 10-2 BYU.
I think SMU's weak SOS means they have to keep it close if they lose. If they get blown out it might cause them to dismiss the CG argument.
Question: Why does ESPN show Louisville as 8-4 but a couple of articles list them as 9-3?

Opposing fan bases have been telling Alabama fans all year that Saban and his influence on college football are gone, But since LSU is going to the Kraft Mayonnaise Bowl again, All of a sudden Alabama are masters of propaganda.

I want LSWho? to lose, but it would be nice to see Kelly soaked in mayo.

I’d argue that SMU’s current ranking is presumptive based on the fact that they are considered the “best team in the ACC” at the moment, and by virtue of that would qualify for the playoffs. The ACC is a one bid league.
To me, the “a team shouldn’t cost you a spot in the playoffs when you lose” means that a team who otherwise merits being in the playoff shouldn’t be punished for playing the extra game.

This discussion is about whether Alabama should be in the playoff.
Have I said anywhere that LSU should be in the playoff?
No.
Have I claimed that Alabama doesn’t have “a case” to make the playoffs?
No.
But, objectively, Ole Miss has a much stronger case for the playoffs than Bama. They played four common opponents UGA, USC, LSU and Oklahoma. Based on the outcomes of those four games, three of the four favor Ole Miss.
