By expanding conference
Yeah it’s more money but now it’s just a dogfight for that 4th playoff spot if sec even gets one which they should whoever it is.

Lopsided scheduling is the real culprit

yes it is insane we have schedules like Texas and Florida’s in the same conference. After rankings come out this week one will be 11-1 and have 0 top 25 wins and the other will have played 7-8 top 25 teams. A lot more SEC teams would be in the CFP if they played the same schedule as Texas

Before NIL it was fine. With NIL, Texas has a very clear advantage.

I’d be willing to bet a 8 team sec playoff would get better tv ratings then this 12 team fiasco

Most SEC teams that are making this argument lost to teams we beat

And some that beat the team that kicked your arse on your home field.

The SEC is a danger to itself… meanwhile you can be Clemson and likely get into the playoff.

37-27 at your house while still in the Big 12. *Edit: with Saban
Quit whining about our schedule. You just make the SEC look weak and not what you're trying to sell to the rest of the country.

Yes, as I keep trying to explain to people - there is a limited amount of success. Adding more teams does not equal more success, someone is gonna have to take the losses.

No, lopsided schedules not only happened every year with divisions, the same teams kept getting them year after year.

The schedules will rotate.

Because SEC East teams haven't been getting lopsided schedule the majority of the past 15 years?

Divisions just lock you into the crap, and then at the end of year some team makes the SECCG while not being among the best 2 teams simply because they got to play in the easy divison.

This year, the 2 best teams have made the SECCG.

It's not new. Remember when Missouri was winning the SEC East for the same reason?

Do you guys really think the SEC schedules have been balanced until now?
