It’s at home. If I gambled, I would bet on Alabama covering.

Not with the way we looked last week and the way Auburn won their last game. They have all the momentum and the better quarterback of the two teams. As insane as it sounds to say that Thorne is playing better than Milroe at the moment. But he is.

This wouldn’t be the first time Jalen has looked like trash on the road then played great at home. It would follow the trend he’s set since he took over as starter.

I don’t really want to argue about it. I’m tired of talking about Jalen.

“The old lessons (work, self-discipline, sacrifice, teamwork, fighting to achieve) aren’t being taught by many people other than football coaches these days. The football coach has a captive audience and can teach these lessons because the communication lines between himself and his players are more wide open than between kids and parents. We better teach these lessons or else the country’s future population will be made up of a majority of crooks, drug addicts, or people on relief.”

Coach Bryant

As usual, he was out front of the rest.

I look forward to the multiple qb runs that will get stuffed. And then the subsequent ones that will follow because this staff has never heard the word adjustments.

This game will be won or lost on Bama’s defense being able to stop the run and not give up busted long passes. If we can’t stop the run without stacking 8 in the box, then it will all come down to if AU hits a couple busted coverage long passes in 1:1 coverage. If we stop the run with 7, we win…but that hasn’t happened against a decently mobile QB at all this year.

I have this little Alabama football player decoration in my den that has lights. I’ve plugged it in every gameday that I’ve been home since I got it sometime in 2008. The lights on it (basically just a strand of Christmas lights) blew after the Mercer game a couple of weeks ago. I didn’t get a chance to fix it before the Oklahoma game, so it wasn’t plugged in. Well, this morning I replaced every single lightbulb and it was shining better than the day I got it! I thought that was a great sign for today.

Then within a couple of hours all of the lights blew again. That was all I needed to see for me to give up on the thought of Bama winning today.
