This is where we do our best not say Jon Gruden.

Personally I think Arkansas is going to do something potentially stupid, but my List of possible hires is as follows.

Rhett Lashley
Barry Lunney Jr
Odom
Brennan Marion
Jeff Traylor
Gus Malzhan

First, we'll need to wait and see how many of these guys are available in 2027.

Why do people keep listing Lashley besides "He loves the helmet, hur dur dur?

He has an easier path at SMU and they can match whatever we offer, money-wise. Just because he played here doesn't mean he wants to coach here. And he just signed an extension anyway.

Aren't we past the Gus thing?

With NIL, they're no longer that SMU as we knew it. Again, he has a much easier path to success in the ACC than the SEC with Arkansas right now.

They have 30K fans at their games, yes they are still SMU.

Arkansas is a lateral if not a step down.

Why wouldn’t he just hold off for a job like Auburn, UF or even LSU if he was going to jump to the SEC.

He should definitely hold off, he is too good and too hot of a name for Arkansas.

Who cares as long as you're winning and in contention for a CFP spot? We're nowhere near that right now.

Most coaches care about playing in front of 100K loud packed top environments in the sport yes. Same for basketball and why Calipari is begging fans to show up.

Dumb topic to discuss anyways he's at SMU at most 1 more year.

I think most coaches think about furthering their job security or their career vs. crowd sizes.

Agreed. Why not hold out for a more ideal situation?

Can have both at many many schools. SMU not being one.

We as fans are, but you know our good one boy network is going to look first and foremost at graduates and former coaches.
