12 seed in the playoffs would actually be a sweet spot this year…

Saturday night sucked. I was there, and can tell you that even the OU fans had no belief they would win that game. Crowd wasnt super loud early on (yeah they got loud on 3rd down but nothing crazy). After the multiple interceptions and being up by 14 they were rocking though. And we got our arse kicked in a way I dont think we’ve seen since the Sack Brody game.

But moving on, IF we got lucky and snuck in to the playoffs as a 12 seed, that would be a sweet spot to get Notre Dame in a 5-12 matchup and then a BYU or something as the 4 seed in the next round.

Not saying we deserve it. And imo first dibs for a 3 loss SEC team should go to SCar, considering one of their losses was straight robbery by the officials vs LSU. But if it happened it would be ironic to get a little easier path to the final 4.

Whatever happens let’s beat Auburn and finish the year strong. Roll tide.

I think a lot depends on who wins this weekend and next but basically:

SC beats Clemson
Miami Beats SMU

That would probably be enough. Then again they dropped Miami like a rock after 1 loss. So they may send them out. The predictor on some sites says between 41-58%. I don’t know how they come to that but ultimately we need to be the crap out of Auburn first. Let the chips fall.

I think 2 loss SMU gets in. I don’t think they penalize them for losing the conference championship game.

Y’all really want to watch Riley Leonard and company run all over this team in South Bend? You think ND can’t watch film and shut down our obvious as hell QB runs, which means our offense turns into a bottom tier unit?

This team doesn’t deserve to sniff the playoffs, yall gotta get back to reality.

Yeah Im always going to root for Alabama to have a chance. Dont know why any fan wouldnt. They play like world beaters sometimes, so there isnt a doubt they could get in an win at least a game or two. Sure if they play like vs OU or Tennessee offensively we can lose to anybody. But the defense is playing well (Saturday night was not their fault) and if offense can a groove within a game then we could beat most teams on a given night.

Listen, I'm a huge Bama fan but I'm also a realist. I've watched this team look awful for multiple games over the last two and a half years with Milroe as the starting QB. His ceiling is 10-2/9-3 with several games that are absolute head scratchers.

Our entire offense is built on the QB run with a QB that actively avoids contact. That just doesn't work unless we're playing defenses that we vastly overmatch (hello LSU). In every loss this year, he left a ton of yards on the field because he chose to bounce runs outside for losses instead of taking a chance to move the chains at the expense of taking a hit. We aren't going to beat anyone with a pulse on defense like that. Hell, this team should have lost 1-2 more games to be honest, and easily should have lost 2+ last year.

My biggest fear is that JM comes back next year and we do this same song and dance all over again. I'm over the JM experiment and hope someone in the NFL is willing to gamble on him, because if he gets a third round grade he's coming back and I don't know if DeBoer will risk the locker room by telling him to transfer.

His ceiling also includes 2 wins vs Georgia who have a legitimate defense. Im not defending him. He also single handedly loss us the Tennessee game and OU game. But when he is on point and in a rhythm, with play calling to match, Bama could beat anybody.

If we dont get in, Im not upset and not going to argue for playoff expansion and whine about being 13th and blah blah. It’s our own fault for losing 3 games. But as a fan I am still rooting for chaos and for us to get lucky enough to have a chance.

After Saturday's loss, I'm not to excited about the Iron Bowl or possibly a payoff spot.

Fair. Im definitely more nervous about Auburn than I was before Saturday night. But it’s in Tuscaloosa and if our teams plays their best game we should win. We shall see.

Having the ability to beat anyone and lose to literally anyone isn’t a good selling point. Give me above average consistency over JM’s volatility any day.

We are not arguing about Milroe… I am ready to move on from the Milroe experience after Saturday night and I am excited to see what DeBoer’s offense can do with a different QB who can distribute the ball efficiently. But as a fan of the team I am rooting for chaos and to hopefully sneak in the playoffs. Simple as that.

I don't think we're a shoo-in to win against Auburn much less convincingly and it would take a lot of bounces outside our control to get us in the field

But I'll take our new staff making the playoffs and winning the state by any means necessary in year 1. It is good for momentum in 2025 and forward.

This is what you want right here.

To all these dumdums that say Alabama doesn't deserve or doesn't belong or shouldn't be there or whatever the frick else, obviously doesn't understand that no matter the outcome, 100% of the time it's better to be in the playoff than not.

These takes are weak.

I’d rather have a shot than not have one even if that shot results in a blowout loss. I don’t think our team deserves a shot at this point, but I’d still rather have one than not.

Are y’all really buying ND as a top team? Their best wins are against the service academies and A&M when they were playing the wrong QB.

You think ND can beat BAMA??

BAMA would beat ND like ND beat Army.

Yes. In South Bend.
Yes. With Milroe.

When the ball is in Milroe's hands, someone's band is about to play. You just never know whose.
