What I expected:
Loss to UGA and potentially Tenn.

What I did not expect:
Losses to Vandy and Oklahoma.

If we’re 9-2 headed into the Iron Bowl with losses to UGA/Tenn., I’d be understanding. I’m not. And no one else should be either. I understand Vandy is better this year, but there’s still no excuse for that loss or Oklahoma. If we were 10-1 right now, he would be exceeding expectations and I’d be looking forward to the future with a different QB more adept at running his offense.

The Iron Bowl concerns me. I love the tide, but I have a bad feeling we’re all going to be doing this again next Saturday around 5 PM. Their potential run game and Durkin’s defense are a bad combo for this Alabama team. And I don’t have a lot of hope that DeBoer understands this rivalry like we all do. Saban understood it out of the gate, hence the “how much I hate these guys” days.

Roll Tide, folks.

At this point you have to let it play out. Obviously some pieces for DeBoer to work with, but you can't really judge him until he is really into year 3. If it looks this bad then, then you start judging. Otherwise you just have to assume he is dealing with the hand he is dealt.

I would say barring a losing season next year. Coach DeBoer is probably here a minimum of three years either way. Can't really knee jerk fire a guy

And they aren't even good teams we're losing to. Wonder if he doesn't take these teams seriously?

Kalen is a post prime Dabo. Maybe the next coach will be able to rebuild out of the ashes in a few years.

I do agree with you. And I don’t think he should be fired after this season. I’m just not excited about how he manages the program thus far. I know there are things happening that we will never know about and are reasons why he has done things certain ways, but on the surface it has been disappointing. What about coordinators? What is your feeling there?

Exactly what is happening. He doesn't understand you have to prepare for every team in the SEC.

Saban lost several Iron Bowls he shouldn't have.

That’s the question. Saban worked tirelessly 16 hours every day for 6-7 days every week. I wonder what DeBoer’s work ethic looks like. Underestimating lesser teams? Game planning not as solid? I think that’s when Saban turned it up a little honestly.

You give a coach that is rebuilding a program 3 years. You don't give a coach 3 years to ruin a dominant program.

Les Miles was able to win a national championship with Saban's players.

I think there is at least very reasonable justification for judging his handling of behavioral issues.

It's hard to guage him right now due to his qb. If we have even just decent qb play, this team is undefeated or maybe 1 loss. Jalen is so bad and it's tearing the team down. Anybody that's lost to him (UGA, etc) should feel bad. Just remember how many losses we could've had last season. The guy sucks.

I’d say he lost two Iron Bowl’s he “shouldn’t have”. 2017 & 2019. Even in those losses Auburn was ranked high, especially 2017. 2010 Auburn won the NC and 2013 they played for the NC. Both close games. 2007 they were just the better team, but not by much. Saban still dominated Auburn.

No he didn't He had 3 recruiting classes before he won a NC. There were some Saban players like Dorsey & Doucet & Hester, but the majority were his. He also lost 2 games that year like his previous 2 years & was lucky to even make it to the BCS title game.

Either way there is zero chance he is getting fired.

Guessing coordinators get one more year at best. Womack clearly making some very questionable decisions

What's most disappointing is his leadership. He just goes to the sideline & stares off into space. This is who the players are looking to for leadership during the game?

You see him screaming at the O on the sidelines after throwing that pick 6? Could’ve just been trying to motivate them, but wasn’t a great look.
